Founded in 2008, Mulungushi University is the youngest of the three public universities in Zambia. It is made up of three campuses; the Great North Road Campus, The Kabwe Town Campus and the Livingstone Medical School located inside Livingstone General Hospital.

The university offers 118 programmes in agriculture and natural resources, social science, business studies, engineering and technology, education, medicine and health sciences. Programmes are offered in person and through distance education.

The Dean of Students Office is made up of several departments: administration, career guidance, counselling, sport and recreation and the catering unit. Students can apply for accommodation once they accept their place at the university.

The university provides student and staff with several sport activities on campus including, soccer, badminton, basketball, judo, flexibility and chess. In addition to the physical activities, students also have access to debate, theatre, beauty pageants and other cultural events.
