Monmouth University competes in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I athletics in 23 different sports, including as men’s and women’s basketball, lacrosse and track and field. The teams are known as Hawks.

Your own work is focused on the social and cultural history of Europe, or of Europe in the world, 19th to 20th century. You support the department’s intellectual community, for instance with public engagement. You participate in the supervision of BA and MA theses and in examination activities in German and English. This is part of your personality: Completed PhD in History or a related discipline. Thematic focus on one of the following fields is a plus but not required: History of capitalism, history of the psyche and the self, colonial history and decolonization, gender history, social movements, Austrian or Habsburg history.  You are well versed in combining theoretical perspectives with source-based research and have an active interest in the relation between history and social theory. You are about to develop a set of internationally visible publications. Experience in teaching on university level. Team player. What we offer: Fixed-term contract and fair salary: The basic salary of EUR 5.014,30 (14 times a year) for a period of 6 years increases if we can credit professional experience.
