Job description: As a Senior Lecturer, you will work in the fields of ethics and applied ethics. Your field of work is the scientific teaching of the bachelor's and master's degree programs in philosophy as well as the teachers program in Ethics, as well as in the Master’s program in “Interdisciplinary Ethics.” In these areas, you will regularly teach courses on the basics of philosophical ethics, the history of ethics, as well in special fields of applied ethics. The 32-hour work week includes 11 semester hours (SWS) of academic teaching. The intention to raise working hours to a full-time position (40-hours and 14 semester hours) is much appreciated. Description of tasks: You independently teach 11 semester hours of courses at the bachelor's and master's level. You actively contribute to the (further) development of course and examination formats. We expect ongoing engagement with the current state of research, further training in teaching methodology, and the taking over of research tasks during semester breaks. In addition, administrative tasks, in particular in the administration of teaching, are part of the job profile. This is part of your profile: Completed doctorate/PhD in the field of Philosophical Ethics or Applied Ethics. Several years of independent teaching experience at a post-secondary educational institution. Enthusiasm for passing on knowledge and for university teaching. Excellent knowledge of German and English; the ability to teach in German language. The capacity to teach in English is very welcome. IIIb Limited until: 31.10.2026 Reference no.: 5513 The Faculty of Psychology is seeking to fill the position of a technician to oversee the transition of several research positions from the Vienna Cognitive Science Hub to the faculty. This cross-faculty and cross- departmental role is assigned to the Department of Cognition, Emotion, and Methods in Psychology. The advertised position is for 40 hours per week and is limited to 6 months. Your personal sphere of influence: The members of the Faculty of Psychology engage in research and teaching focused on describing and explaining human experience and behavior, as well as changes therein. Based on integrative and complementary research approaches from neuroscience, cognitive science, and the social sciences, the goal is to make theoretically grounded and empirically testable contributions to scientific knowledge and its transfer. The Department of Cognition, Emotion, and Methods in Psychology consists of approximately 100 staff members organized into eight research units with laboratories equipped with EEG, fNIRS, VR, eye-tracking, physiology, and brain stimulation systems. Our international team places great value on respectful interaction and independent work. Your future tasks: Supporting the transition of researchers from the Vienna Cognitive Science Hub to the Faculty of Psychology as a replacement for the previous technical support provided by a data scientist. Transfer of collected scientific data, data backup/cloud-based infrastructure for collected data and study-related products. Assisting with the organization and post-processing of collected raw data for use in ongoing projects within the context of the Study Participant Platform (SPP). In particular, advanced statistical analysis methods (latent profile analysis, network analysis) and statistical software packages will be utilized. Administrative support for managing specialized software and transferring/developing analyses to open-source software. Support in presenting research on the Vienna CogSci Hub’s Transition website. We require a Radiation Protection / Health and Safety Officer to join our team of health & safety professionals. In addition to specialist radiation knowledge, you will need to be able to apply general expertise in health and safety to support the University activities. The role is responsible for development, implementation and review of the radiation protection management system that ensures the University maintains its compliance with the Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017 and the Environmental Permitting Regulations 2016 Main responsibilities: In liaison with the external RPA/RWA, to provide radiation protection advice and support to a wide range of research streams, and to promote continuous improvement of measures to reduce risk and exposure to ALARP. To manage the University’s Environmental Permits for radioactive waste disposal, and to provide oversight of its radiation protection management system. In liaison with the RWA, to provide advice on the best available techniques for management and disposal of radioactive waste to ensure compliance with the University’s Permits. To coordinate provision of dosimetry across the University. To carry out internal audits and inspections of the Faculties working with ionising radiations. To develop and deliver radiation protection training. To liaise with relevant regulators, including EA, HSE, CTSA and Fire Service. To provide general health and safety advice to academic schools and professional services within the University. Ideally, the successful candidate will have a proven track record of radiation protection and health and safety expertise, ideally in an education or research environment. Suitable applicants from other sectors will be considered. Applications from individuals working towards RPA/RWA accreditation will also be considered. NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety (or equivalent) would be desirable, but is not a requirement.
