Description The Center for Sand Hazards and Opportunities in Resilience, Energy, and Sustainability (SHORES) and the Division of Engineering (Civil & Urban Engineering) seeks to recruit a Post-doctoral Associate to work on a broader field of geotechnical engineering.  Required Qualifications: A successful applicant must have a PhD in Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on one or more of the following: Centrifuge experimental testing (design, execution, and data interpretation) Numerical modeling and simulation to complement physical experiments Preferred) Proficiency in CAD and modeling tools such as SolidWorks for experimental design and apparatus development Additional background in areas such as artificial intelligence applications in geotechnics, geoenvironmental engineering, geohazards risk assessment, or energy geotechnics will be considered an asset.  Research Project: The successful candidate will lead a research project focused on advancing the design, testing, and analysis of resilient and sustainable geotechnical systems using centrifuge modeling. The work will bridge advanced experimental testing with complementary numerical simulation to generate insights for infrastructure and energy applications. The Post-doctoral Associate will be expected to: Design, implement, and analyze centrifuge experiments. Integrate findings with numerical models for validation and deeper interpretation. Develop innovative experimental apparatus (SolidWorks proficiency is a plus). Disseminate results through high-quality publications in reputable journals. As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT.  The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on an industry funded research project where you will be part of the research team to develop advanced Nuclear Quadrupole Resonance (NQR) scanning technologies. Job Responsibilities Participate in research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met.  Undertake these responsibilities in the project:  i. Conduct comprehensive literature review on NQR technology, including design approaches, scanning methods, signal processing techniques, and comparison with alternative detection technologies. ii. Support design and development of NQR prototype, including system architecture, component selection, and experimental setup. iii. Conduct lab and site tests to evaluate the performance of NQR prototype. iv. Generate design documents and test documents at every stage of development until the final prototype. Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers. Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations.  Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment. Job Requirements Has a bachelor’s degree in Electronics; Specialization in RF/Microwave or Digital Signal Processing (DSP) is preferred. Has solid knowledge of electronics, including circuit design, PCB layout, and hardware troubleshooting. Has relevant competence in the areas of Radio Frequency design and measurement; Familiarity with high-power amplifier systems is a plus. Has relevant experience in the areas of Digital Signal Processing (DSP) design and implementation is a plus. Experience in electromagnetic simulation using CST Studio Suite and circuit simulation with PSpice, LTspice, or equivalent is an advantage. Experience with developing software for instrument control and data acquisition using LabVIEW is helpful. Key Competencies Strong experimental skills and theoretical knowledge in electronic circuits, and RF or DSP design, with the ability to apply hands-on prototyping and system development. Location: Bedford Park / Kaurna Country View Position Description About the Role We are offering a position as a Cyber Security Analyst within our Information and Digital Services Portfolio. Reporting to the Deputy CISO, your key responsibilities will include collaborating closely with our Security Operations Centre (SOC) to monitor and respond to cyber threats in real-time, ensuring the protection of the University's information assets and critical systems. You will play a vital role in the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of security platforms such as advanced email filtering, firewalls, intrusion prevention/detection systems, anti-malware, VPN, and host protection. You will also be responsible for the development and participation in cyber projects, providing technical leadership, and implementing technological advancements in information security. Your duties will involve managing the University's proactive security monitoring systems to identify and mitigate incidents and security weaknesses, reducing potential impacts on the wider University. You will maintain configuration control of security infrastructure and oversee monitoring controls applied to the centralised network and systems supporting the University's operations.
