The Role and the Department Research and Innovation Services (RIS) provides guidance, expert advice and hands-on support for all aspects of research and research-related work, including securing funding, working with partners, undertaking knowledge exchange, demonstrating impact, commercialising outputs, ensuring good research practice and supporting professional development. This post sits within the Policy, Systems and Performance team in Research & Innovation Services (RIS). The team is responsible for the University's research information management systems, the overall governance and ethical framework for both funded and unfunded research & research related activities across the institution, support for institutional strategy development and the compilation of relevant returns including HEBCI, KEF, KEC and REF, as well as management information reporting relating to university research and knowledge exchange (RKE) activities. As Research Systems and Information Officer you will contribute to the implementation and development of the RIS RKE systems as well as training and communications about these systems across the University. Current research systems include Worktribe Research Management, Infonetica Ethics RM, and Dynamics CRM. You will contribute to ensuring our research systems are configured in the most optimal and user-friendly way and that any associated training and communications will be delivered in a clear, concise and timely manner. You will analyse research data and develop and present reports to key stakeholders You will report to the Senior Manager - Research Systems and Reporting but will work closely with colleagues across the Research and Innovation Services Directorate as well as colleagues in faculties, departments and across professional support services. It is essential that as Research Systems and Information Officer you are highly organised and pay close attention to detail. The capability to prioritise and manage a busy and varied workload is crucial. The ability to work across business-as-usual activities and multiple concurrent projects at different stages of development is essential. This role is suitable for hybrid working. Department of Psychological Medicine | Te Tari Whakaora Hinengaro Tangata Faculty of Medicine - Dunedin | Te Kaupeka Whaiora and Health New Zealand / Te Whatu Ora - Southern (Health New Zealand - Southern) In pursuit of excellence, the Faculty of Medicine - Dunedin, in association with Health New Zealand - Southern, seeks to appoint a Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor in Psychological Medicine. The position provides an excellent opportunity for a clinical academic to establish themselves in one of the leading medical schools in Australasia. The appointee will provide leadership in teaching and research in the field of psychological medicine while supporting an effective and efficient inpatient and outpatient service for psychiatry patients in the Otago and Southland regions. There are research opportunities for wider collaboration with other researchers in the University’s well-regarded medical and medical science departments such as the Departments of Anatomy, Pathology and Public Health. In addition to holding the position of Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor at the University of Otago, the appointee will concurrently hold a position as Consultant Psychiatrist at Health New Zealand - Southern. This is a joint University/Hospital position and will be held as a single contract with the University of Otago. The two separate roles equal the equivalent of one full-time position. Academic Component (0.5 FTE) The successful applicant will be based in the Department of Psychological Medicine, Faculty of Medicine - Dunedin, and appointed to the position of Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor dependent on academic achievement, skills, and experience. The appointee will have academic qualifications and prior experience in teaching and research and will be responsible for teaching at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. There will be significant opportunity for laboratory and clinically based research. Clinical Component (0.5 FTE) Health New Zealand - Southern has the largest geographical coverage of all the New Zealand regions, providing services to 350,000 people in diverse communities. The successful applicant will participate in a shared roster and an after-hours on-call roster; clinical duties and patient care will form 50% of weekly duties. Alongside an enthusiastic group of colleagues, the appointee will provide support for the outpatient psychiatry clinics. Additional payment is made for clinical duties outside of regular hours, in negotiation with Health New Zealand - Southern.
