Job Purpose The Professional Officers Division (POD) houses a centralized pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers scheme. Professional Officers come with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in SIT, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum. Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. They act as coaches and mentors to students during practical learning activities such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Professional Officers could also lead or work with faculty on industry innovation projects to provide solutions to the industry. In addition to their role in applied learning and applied research, Professional Officers manage the centralised laboratory facilities and resources in SIT. With Technical Officers, laboratory safety professionals, and administrators in POD, they jointly develop central policies and processes for the safe and seamless operation of laboratories in SIT. Key Responsibilities Design and teach labs & practice modules. Mentor students in Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP). Lead or co-lead innovation projects with industry. Manage labs and equipment to support academic programmes and applied research. Ensure safety in labs Job Requirements A Master’s degree in Radiography or related field. Possessing a PhD will be an added advantage. Deep technical specialist with 10 or more years of working experience in the acute / community / other clinical rehabilitation setting. Possess clinical experience and competence in Radiography. Having expertise in general radiography or other area of specialization (e.g., MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Angiography and Fluoroscopy) is preferred. Knowledge and experience in working with simulated healthcare institution and community environment and educational manikins will be advantageous. Extensive experience and knowledge of industry practices to bring industry perspective to SIT.  Keen interest in innovation projects, with demonstrated ability in developing solutions to technical problems. Strong supervisory skills and enjoy working closely with students in an educational environment. Demonstrate proficiency to keep abreast of development in the field and pursue professional certification programs. Possess industrial certifications in relevant areas will be an added advantage.

Role Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and accomplished Assistant Professor in Data Science / Statistics to join our growing academic team at the University’s Mumbai Enterprise Campus (MEC), a flagship transnational education initiative of the University of Bristol set to open its doors in 2026, coinciding with the University’s 150th anniversary. The role will contribute to curriculum and research development, and strengthen the University’s academic reputation through teaching, innovation, high-impact research, and external engagement. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver high-quality teaching, lead independent research initiatives, and support the broader academic and administrative development of the department. The role will report to the Professor / Associate Professor and have dotted lines reporting and collaboration to a senior academic in Head of School of Mathematics in the Faculty of Science and Engineering (S&E). This position offers a platform for career advancement, including the potential for progression to Associate Professor based on performance and institutional contribution. Key Responsibilities Leadership, Culture, and Engagement Participate in faculty committees, academic events, student recruitment, and quality assurance processes. Contribute to institutional development and participating in training and capacity-building initiatives. Build industry and/or academic partnerships that enhance the University’s visibility and engagement with external stakeholders. Work collaboratively with Professional Services partners to deliver delegated administrative and governance duties. Teaching Design and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate courses ranging from mathematical statistics and machine learning to coding and algorithmics. Contribute to curriculum development initiatives and contribute to academic programme design in collaboration with senior colleagues and faculty teams. Contribute and promote innovative teaching strategies that improve student experience, transferable skills creation and employability prospects. Play a role in curriculum development and contextualisation, programme accreditation, programme enhancement and the maintenance of quality assurance standards within the university. Research Supervise student research projects, theses, and internships, providing academic guidance and mentoring. Build an excellent record of high-quality publications in reputable, peer-reviewed academic journals, or recognised discipline-specific outputs, actively contributing to the international discourse in Data Science / Statistics. Pursue research funding and build interdisciplinary collaborations across the university network. Essential Criteria A completed PhD in mathematical statistics and data science. Evidence of ability to teach to a very high standard at undergraduate and postgraduate levels An emerging track record of high-quality scholarly research, with potential to publish in highly ranked journals. Evidence of excellent organisational and administrative skills. Excellent communication, leadership, and collaborative skills. Demonstrates a proactive approach to professional development. Strong programming expertise. Proven experience in machine learning and data science. Desirable Criteria Between 2 and 10 years of academic experience post-PhD Post-PhD experience in teaching, research, or a combination of both in a higher education setting Strong mentoring, academic advising, and supervisory skills. Main Job Purpose The candidate will contribute to the delivery of high-quality teaching, assessment, and dissertation supervision in Data Science / Statistics, at the UG level. The main area of interest is Data Science / Statistics. Main Responsibilities Teaching Responsibilities Teaching at Undergraduate and Postgraduate including assisting with lectures, tutoring, seminars. and computer lab sessions. Acting as a personal tutor to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Supervising UG/MSc dissertations in the relevant area. Marking exams and coursework papers for graduate and undergraduate students; with Curriculum development/enhancement in line with the school ambition/strategy. Actively contributing to the function of the school by attending meetings and seminars and undertaking administrative duties assigned by the Head of School. Proactive approach to professional development and scholarship. Administration Responsibilities If needed, fulfilling the role of unit/course director or aiding unit/course director in the administration, development, and teaching of the relevant unit. Responsibilities are likely to include administering graduate and undergraduate degree programmes (Financial Technology or similar, including new programme development, promotion and admissions; organising and monitoring delivery of units; overseeing the welfare of students; liaising with external examiners; and/or reviewing and revising programmes in accordance with school and faculty policy. Making a wider contribution to the success of the University from their participation in faculty and University wide governance and development activities. Experience of effectively supervising undergraduate and masters’ projects and dissertations. Evidence of responsibility for planning your own professional development. Evidence of leadership responsibility in teaching and learning (e.g. leading new courses/programmes and personal tutor role). Relevant Qualifications A Doctorate (e.g. PhD or expected to be completed by the start of appointment) in an appropriate discipline, which fits with teaching specialism/s. HE teaching qualification.
