Classification: ANU Officer 5 (Administration) Salary package: $87,570 - $95,530 per annum plus 17% superannuation Terms: Full-time, Continuing Position Description and Selection Criteria: Assessment Development Officer The Position Coordinates and supports assessment activities across SMP, including design, implementation, data processing, analysis, and reporting, with a particular focus on the accredited medical program. The role assists with assessment technology platforms, preparation of assessment and feedback reports, and supports the planning and delivery of written and clinical assessments across the School. The Person We are seeking a detail-focussed team player with experience in assessment activities in complex environments, strong skills in systems and data and the ability to manage priorities independently and collaboratively.  The School/Department The School of Medicine and Psychology (SMP) was established in 2023 to bring together expertise from Medicine and Psychology to develop a unique educational and research environment. The focus is to produce psychologists, researchers, and medical graduates who practice compassion, conscience and professional excellence, and with a knowledge of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and culture. The school partners with a number of healthcare organisations to deliver teaching and training including but not limited to ACT Health, community practices throughout the ACT and Southeastern NSW. This is a unique opportunity to provide strategic and operational leadership to one of the University's flagship multidisciplinary initiatives, supporting world-leading research, education and engagement that addresses some of society's most complex brain and mental health challenges. The Brain and Mind Centre is one of seven University-wide Multidisciplinary Initiatives (MDIs), bringing together leading researchers, clinicians, educators and professional staff from across disciplines to deliver impact at scale. Working closely with the Academic Co-Directors and academic leadership team, the COO will play a critical role in translating strategy into action, ensuring the Centre's vision, objectives and priorities are embedded into robust business planning, governance and operational delivery. Reporting to the Academic Co-Directors, the COO provides overall leadership of the Centre's operations, workforce, finances and infrastructure, while ensuring alignment with the University's broader strategic agenda. The role is central to enabling multidisciplinary collaboration, strengthening partnerships, and ensuring the Centre operates within a sustainable and well-governed business model. About you (skills, capabilities and experience) You are a highly capable senior professional leader with a strong track record in operational management within complex, research-intensive or similarly sophisticated organisations. You bring sound business acumen, strategic thinking and the ability to navigate ambiguity, translating high-level strategy into practical, effective operational outcomes. Knowledge of the health system in NSW and/or clinical trials would be an advantage. As a trusted partner to academic leaders, you will provide clear, confident advice and leadership across financial management, workforce planning, governance, risk and compliance, and change management. We are looking for a Lecturer in Medical Education to join the School on a part-time basis (0.7 FTE) at this exciting time. The role The successful candidate will focus on delivering high-quality teaching throughout our medical undergraduate curriculum: this will include biomedical science, physiology and general medicine, and specialities. The first year of the course is structured in themes, based around clinical cases, which enables medical students to learn clinically relevant biomedical science, as the foundation to the subsequent years clinical rotations. Subsequent years are based around clinical rotations in specialised themes, with university base days to ensure core content, clinical skills and professionalism learning outcomes are achieved You will support students in small and large group teaching (including case-based learning), contributing to clinical and communication skills sessions, simulation-based teaching, and eventually also teaching students in other years of the course. We would also expect you to contribute to our admissions process, to standard setting, to writing knowledge tests and OSCEs, and to supporting OSCE examining. Please note that this role will be offered at either Lecturer A or B level depending on your experience (see job profile below for further details). The full-time equivalent salary range for Lecturer A starts at £37,694 and Lecturer B starts at £47,389 (pro rata for 0.7 FTE). You’ll have full registration with the GMC, a higher professional qualification (usually a doctoral degree or equivalent), and may hold a Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy or Academy of Medical Educators. In addition to these qualifications, you’ll have experience of providing high quality teaching and will have good knowledge of medical education principles and practices (including course accreditation, quality assurance processes, and knowledge of the professional requirements of the GMC).
