About Constructor University Constructor University is a private, research-driven, international university in Germany, with students from more than 120 countries. About the School of Business, Social and Decision Sciences The School offers currently six Bachelor and three Master programs ranging from the fields of Business and Economics to Logistics and Supply Chain Management, and from Data Science to Psychology, Political Science, and History. A new program in the area of Social Sciences and two executive MBAs are envisaged. The school is growing rapidly. There are currently around 600 students enrolled and 20 members of faculty. The School holds close ties to the University of Bremen via a joint Graduate School, with another nearly 100 enrolled students. In addition, the School plays a major role in the wider education program at Constructor University through teaching of the University’s methods education. The Executive Board and Provost of Constructor University invite applications for the position of Dean (m/f/d) of the School of Business, Social and Decision Sciences (Full-time; 38.5 hours/week, limited to 5 years) The expected starting date is 1 February 2027. The place of work is Bremen, Germany. A regular presence on campus is strongly preferred. Your responsibilities The successful candidate will serve as Dean of the School of Business, Social and Decision Sciences, acting as the academic and administrative head. Offering a unique international education experience, XJTLU brings together excellent research practice and expertise from both institutions and gives students the skills and knowledge they need to secure careers in a global marketplace. The core mission of the Academy is to impact education innovation and reform in China and beyond through a variety of projects and programmes, based on fundamental approaches in educational innovation and systemic development designed to contribute to the future of education. The Academy supports individuals and institutions at all levels, including all the K-15 schools as well as vocational education and higher education institutions. Four units make up the Academy, namely the Department of Educational Studies (EDS), Institute of Leadership & Education Advanced Development (ILEAD), and Educational Development Unit (EDU), Learning Institute for Future Excellence (LIFE). QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCES ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: Applicants with a terminal degree (e.g., PhD, EdD) from a wide range of areas related to future education perspectives (or who are in the final stages of completing a terminal degree), especially in those areas in the above “Roles and Responsibilities” section, are welcome. Fluent in English and the ability to effectively deliver postgraduate-level modules in English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI) context, particularly on Master's and doctoral degree programmes. Teaching experience at the postgraduate level, particularly on Master's degree programmes. Able to work in a diverse and dynamic environment where cross-team or inter-/intra- department collaboration is encouraged. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:  A track record of teaching and research in the priority areas listed above, and/or other relevant fields with a future education perspective.  Experiences in innovative teaching and curriculum development.  Administrative and leadership experiences in K-15 schools, international schools, vocational education, higher education, international development organizations, or educational industry/enterprises contexts. Existing connections with scholars and practitioners in the field, including international networks, and/or the interest in building such networks.
