Initially established to train teachers for Catholic schools, Leads Trinity University became a university college in 2009 and gained the full university status in 2012. The university offers courses in many different disciplines ranging from accounting, law, education, photography and many others. Courses are taught at undergraduate and graduate levels. The university is a leading institution of higher education in humanities and is an active member of the Cathedral group. The university is also popular for its strong networks with local businesses and its partnership with the media including the BBC. Leeds Trinity University has produced a cohort of successful leaders and TV presenters. Notable alumni include right activists, Irish presidential candidate, political leaders, novelist, CNN journalists and popular writers. These include author Dorothy Koomson, CNN journalist Stephanie Busari and TV and film director Julian Jarrold. The university also has a beautiful campus which includes eight halls of residence, a 24-hour library, laboratories, media centre, football pitches, tennis courts and running tracks. In line with its philosophy of considering students “a name, not a number”, the university provides students with small classes and a close-knit community campus. The university also has an active student union. The union regularly organises several events, activities and festivals through its cohort of student clubs. Karaoke nights, Fresher’s Week events and the graduation ball are some of the popular events organised by the union. Issues of mental health, general well-being and counselling support are also actively being addressed by the union. Recently, the university has been actively promoting and strengthening its research abilities.

It is a highly specialized workplace on the issue of vascular diseases. The main activities are vascular-surgical programs. In cooperation with interventional radiologists and angiologists, the clinic provides comprehensive care for vascular patients, including 24-hour permanent service for acute vascular events within the region and supraregionally. As an accredited workplace, it provides undergraduate and postgraduate education in vascular surgery, is involved in scientific research activities and participates in the solution of international randomized multicenter studies. II. The surgical clinic is a part of the Complex Cardiovascular Center and the Cerebrovascular Center established by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic. The Department Head position candidate must be a respected expert in the field of surgery, with experience of working in a given area and with expertise in pre-graduate and postgraduate education. The Head of the department will be responsible for the management of the clinic, undergraduate medical education, doctoral studies, publishing and coordination of research conducted at the clinic. The Candidate for Department Head will present his/her idea of fulfilling the above during the selection process. The Research Engineer will work closely with the Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI, and the research team to develop deep learning-based computer vision algorithms and software for object detection, classification, and segmentation. Key Responsibilities Participate in and manage the research project together with the PI, Co-PI, and research team to ensure timely achievement of project deliverables. Undertake the following specific responsibilities in the project: i. Develop, train, and optimise deep learning models for object detection, classification, and segmentation using real-world datasets. ii. Design and implement software modules to integrate the models into a working system prototype. iii. Perform data annotation. iv. Conduct experiments, analyse results, and iterate models for improved accuracy and efficiency. v. Prepare project documentation, technical reports, and academic publications. vi. Collaborate with industry partners and contribute to technology transfer efforts. Job Requirements 1. Possess strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in: Deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) Deep learning models (e.g., YOLO, U-Net, EfficientNet, ResNet, FPN, Fast R-CNN) Computer vision techniques and algorithms Python and relevant libraries (e.g., PyQt, OpenCV, NumPy, scikit-learn), particularly for developing Windows desktop application software incorporating deep learning models 2. To do so, the role will have dotted lines reporting to University's Pro Vice Chancellor (Education and Students), and collaborating with relevant Associate PVCs (Faculty based and thematic), The will do so alongside an expected close partnership with the Faculty Pro Vice Chancellor in either Arts, Law and Social Sciences (ALSS) or Science and Engineering (S&E), to steward the development of a specific faculty-based MEC coordination function from year 2, depending on disciplinary background of the appointee. Key Responsibilities: 1. Educational Leadership, Culture, and Engagement Reporting to the Executive Dean. The key responsibilities will be as follow Provide leadership, operational and developmental capacity to the Executive Dean during a period of transformation within the MEC and the University, with an emphasis on Education and Students portfolio. Support the Executive Dean to lead MEC in developing a vibrant educational offer for students that aligns with UoB curriculum and strengthens pedagogic innovation Working in consultation with the Executive Dean, and in collaboration with University and Faculty stakeholders, support the strategic vision of delivering an attractive and inspiring education that equips students with skills for the future.
