Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU) is a public state university in the Philippines, with origins dating back to 1952 when it was established as Baybay Provincial High School. It has since evolved through several institutional changes before attaining full university status in 2007. Today, it is recognised as one of the key state universities in the Calabarzon region, with a strong emphasis on technology, agriculture, and applied sciences.
The university’s main campus is located in Santa Cruz, the capital of Laguna province, with additional campuses in San Pablo City, Los Baños, and Siniloan, as well as several satellite locations.
LSPU offers a wide range of academic programmes across 15 colleges and departments. These cover subject areas such as engineering, agriculture and fisheries, education, business and accountancy, information technology, arts and sciences, hospitality and tourism, and health sciences. Each campus has its own area of specialisation, enabling the university to deliver both broad and regionally focused education.
LSPU conducts research in areas such as agriculture, environmental sustainability, disaster resilience, and emerging technologies, supported by dedicated research offices and fully-equipped lab facilities.
Since its establishment, LSPU has developed partnerships with other universities in the Asia Pacific Region such as Phnom Penh International University in Cambodia, Saigon Technology University, and Nong Lam University in Ho Chi Minh City, and Yunnan Agricultural University in China.
