It requires strong industry experience, and familiarity with the business landscape in the  and with that requires industry experience and the knowledge of the business environment in the United Arab Emirates is considered an advantage. The faculty shall deliver world-class education and student experience with innovative approaches to teaching and learning. The faculty will engage with industry to discover innovative industry projects, continuously develop the rigor and relevance of the course curriculum, and support students in their research projects. The faculty will supervise student internships and industry research projects and liaise with industry partners for the achievement of the program learning outcomes. Industry engagement further involves sourcing experts and qualified guest lecturers for the program. The faculty shall maintain an appropriate scholarly or professional development activity and to keep up to date with developments in the field as necessary to carry out the duties of the position. About You The Research assistant will undertake research activities in line with the University's research strategy. It is expected that the Research Assistant will work with an increasing degree of autonomy as skills and experience develop. The Research Assistant will contribute to a specialised research program in quantum information theory and quantum optics, with a focus on quantum channel discrimination for high-resolution spectroscopy and AC field sensing. The project aims to develop theoretical frameworks for distinguishing closely related quantum processes that arise in light-matter interactions, and to use these frameworks to extract fine spectral or temporal information from weak or structured optical fields. The successful candidate will work on designing and analysing protocols that exploit quantum-optical channels-such as those encountered in coherent and incoherent spectroscopy To be successful in this position, you'll have / you'll have as a minimum: Evidence of research output including publications, conference contributions and/or technical reports in the field. Theoretical background in quantum control and quantum optics, including the ability to model and analyse light-matter interactions, dynamical evolution. Theoretical background in quantum channel discrimination and quantum metrology, with proficiency in applying information-theoretic tools to develop and evaluate precision measurement and sensing protocols. About us ​​King’s Centre for International Education and Languages a new, cross-cutting Centre designed to widen the educational reach of King’s. About the role The Learning Technology Officer will support the implementation of Digital Education initiatives at the Centre for International Education and Languages (CIEL), which includes King’s Language Centre, King’s Foundations, and King’s Summer. CIEL comprises around 250 academic and professional services staff and teaches over 12,000 students each year. This role provides practical, hands-on support for the use of digital learning technologies across the Centre. The postholder will assist with the setup and design of KEATS (Moodle VLE), contribute to the creation and maintenance of digital learning materials, and support staff and students in the effective use of digital tools such as Turnitin and Kaltura. They will also contribute to training delivery, process improvement, and the evaluation of digital education practices. The successful candidate will play a key role in fostering an inclusive, forward-thinking digital learning environment that enhances both student and staff experiences through consistent, accessible, and engaging use of technology. You will be responsible for the development of strategies, policies, operating processes, data and information management, performance improvement programmes, business case development, monitoring, benchmarking and reporting on all aspects of space management. You will work closely with departments across the Directorate and wider-University, to ensure space management policies, standards and processes are embedded into all aspects of estate planning, development and operations. You will be the Directorate lead on the University Space Management Group, compromising senior members of staff across Faculties and Services.You will lead the operation of the group and provide support to the designated Chair in the delivery of aims and objectives. You will engage with sector and industry wide networks to identify best practice and opportunities for collaboration, exploring the adoption of innovations in space management to support strategic aims and performance improvement targets. The Estates and Facilities Directorate provides essential services to Durham University and is responsible for managing, maintaining and developing the infrastructure and building fabric of the various campuses.
