Komar University of Science and Technology is a private institution in Sulaimani, Iraq.
It was was founded in 2009 as Kurdistan University of Science and Technology, Sulaimani before taking its current name in 2012.
The first classes offered were an English language summer school in 2010, and English remains the sole language of instruction. Students are required to offer proof of their proficiency , and those who lack a sufficient grasp of the language are enrolled on the 24-week course offered by the Centre of English Intensive Programmes (CIEP) in order to bring them up to the required standard.
Students can study across a range of disciplines including nursing, dental technology, medicine, engineering, civil engineering, computer engineering, environmental engineering and petroleum engineering, business, accounting, business sdministration, e-commerce, nternational management and healthcare administration, science, computer science, medical laboratory science and bioemedical science.

Your Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will have specific responsibility for Professor Ying Weng’s research project in Artificial Intelligence. The person appointed will be expected to conduct work using approaches or methodologies and techniques appropriate to the type of research, and will be responsible for writing up their work for publication.

The successful appointee will have the opportunity to use their initiative and creativity to develop research methods and extend their research portfolio. This may include opportunities to:


	undertake supervised research which may include planning, preparing, setting up, conducting and recording the outcome of experiments and fieldwork, developing questionnaires and conducting surveys within the framework of an agreed programme.
	Conduct literature and database searches and carry out analyses and/or tests and/or critical evaluations using specified and agreed techniques, approaches and/or models and document findings..
	Contribute to the production of research reports and publications
	Prepare and present papers on research progress and outcomes to relevant groups including external bodies..
	Continue to develop skills in and knowledge of research methods and techniques and contribute to the development of/or choice of techniques, models, methods, critiques and approaches.
	Communicate information and ideas to other staff and advise and assist other staff within area of expertise.
	Build relationships with internal and external contacts to develop knowledge and understanding and form relationships for future collaborations.
	Work in conjunction with others in the research team, achieve objectives and deadlines of the research project.
	Participate in training and staff development events, as trainer or trainee, as appropriate.
	Maintain appropriate professional development, expertise and awareness.
	Undertake other tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be required.

We are seeking a Post-doctoral Research Fellow to work on the Velux Fonden project, based at the University of Southampton, on a fixed-term contract initially for 24 months with the opportunity for extension to 36 months.

The Research Fellow will support the development of GIS-based decision-support-tools for spatial planning, and cumulative effects assessment (CEA) of offshore wind (OW). The role will focus on collecting, processing, and harmonising appropriate geospatial data, providing geospatial data insights, and applying appropriate AI models for geospatial analysis based on the integrated data.

This role is part of the project: Decision-support-tools for Spatial Planning and Cumulative Effects Analysis (CEA) of OW in the Greater North Sea Basin (GNSB), funded by the Velux Fonden. The project is cross-disciplinary and delivered by researchers across the University of Southampton through the Southampton Marine and Maritime Institute (SMMI).

We are seeking candidates with a PhD or equivalent professional qualification in civil/maritime/ocean engineering, geography, oceanography, marine sciences, geology, archaeology, or other, with experience in advanced GIS software for data management, processing & analysis, and preferably, interests & knowledge of offshore renewable energy. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing an integrated multi-disciplinary geospatial database across the GNSB and contributing to the creation and evaluation of GIS-based decision-support-tools to ensure functionality, usability, and data accuracy.

The role involves holistic design of decision-support-tools as part of a team with expertise spanning offshore-geotechnical-engineering, marine-ecology, archaeology, and coastal-communities. The role will provide many opportunities to expand the successful applicant’s network, in academia, industry, coastal communities, and policy-making, through project meetings, workshops and conferences.

Setting:

The University of Vienna seeks to fill a position of Research Technician within the Research Group Workflow Systems and Technology (WST) at the Faculty of Computer Science, working under the supervision of Prof. Han van der Aa. In this role, you support the group's research by taking care of and enabling the technical side of our work — implementing research ideas, running experiments, and helping group members carry out the technical aspects of their projects.

Prof. Van der Aa and his team focus on research in process mining, which revolves around the data-driven analysis of organizational processes. As a member of the team, you contribute directly to state-of-the-art research by turning research ideas into working software, building reliable evaluation pipelines, and establishing shared technical best practices across the group.

The position is initially fixed-term for 1 year, with the possibility of being made permanent by mutual agreement.

Your future tasks:

In this role, you will:


	implement algorithmic approaches and machine learning models developed within the group, turning research ideas into working and reliable code;
	design and run experimental evaluations for the group's research projects;
	support group members with the technical side of their research — helping to resolve programming issues, building shared pipelines and tooling, and establishing technical best practices across the group;
	contribute to the writing of research papers, mostly regarding the approaches you implement and the evaluations you conduct;
	help maintain the group's technical infrastructure, including hardware and updates to the group website (TYPO3), in collaboration with our other technician;
	share tasks within the IT infrastructure of the Faculty of Computer Science.


Required qualifications:


	Relevant vocational training (Fachmatura) or ongoing/completed university studies in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Data Science, or an equivalent field.
	Good programming skills in Python
	An excellent command of English and German (spoken and written)
	An interest in process mining and in contributing to research (experience preferred but not required)
	The ability to work independently as well as to support and enable colleagues
	A hands-on, problem-solving mentality and the ability to get things done
	Care for clean, well-documented, and reproducible code


Desirable qualifications:


	Knowledge of process mining
	Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, scikit-learn)

The Department of Philosophy at Durham University seeks to appoint a talented early-career philosopher to a fixed-term Teaching Fellowship. We particularly welcome applicants with research and teaching interests in the broad field of Ethics and Political Philosophy. The post of Teaching Fellow will involve a significant teaching load, which may extend into the summer period, and there may be related scholarship and the opportunity for administrative duties which relate to education and pedagogy.
