Knowledge University was founded in 2009.

The university is located in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. With a population of more than 1.6 million, Erbil is the most populated city in the region.

The university is organised academically into six colleges: college of engineering, college of science, college of law, college of education, collection of administrative and financial sciences, and the college of pharmacy. Each college is divided into different departments, which offer a range of both undergraduate and graduate degree programmes.

There are a number of centres within the university including the Research Centre, the English Language Centre and the Continuing Education Centre. The Research Centre plays an important role in promoting research activities within the academic community of the university. It aims to facilitate partnerships and collaborations between researchers both nationally and internationally.

The university is also equipped with several abs including the Drilling and Petroleum Fluid Properties Lab, the Geological Lab and the Soil Testing Lab. Facilities such as these labs enable students to develop their knowledge through practical experience.

About us The postholder will be based in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London, joining Europe’s largest grouping of youth-focused mental health scientists, clinical academics and researchers at the newly established Pears Maudsley Centre for Children and Young People. About the role This role will provide clinical psychology expertise to support a programme of youth mental health research and service innovation under the direction of Dr Daniel Michelson (Clinical Reader in Youth Mental Health), working in partnership with South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, community youth organisations and schools. The postholder will contribute to the co-design, implementation, evaluation and dissemination of a portfolio of intervention-focused projects, with an emphasis on scalable formats that can be delivered by non-specialists. These include: A transdiagnostic single-session intervention for clinically referred young people with depression or anxiety on CAMHS waiting lists (supported by assistant psychologists). A suite of single-session early interventions designed to address emerging depression and anxiety among young people supported by youth organisations in Croydon and Lambeth (supported by community youth workers). A brief intervention targeting emotionally based school avoidance during the transition from primary to secondary school (supported by attendance mentors). For those seeking to pursue a future clinical academic career, an appropriate professional development plan will be provided (e.g., mentoring and other support for developing a competitive fellowship application). This is a part-time post (14 hours per week; 0.4FTE), available on a fixed-term contract until 31/08/28. About you To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience: Essential criteria Doctoral qualification in clinical psychology with active HCPC registration as a Practitioner (Clinical) Psychologist. Experience in applied mental health research, gained as a salaried research assistant/associate/fellow and/or during doctoral training. Experience of lived experience involvement in mental health research and service development. Experience of delivering brief psychological interventions to young people aged 10-19 years. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including demonstrated ability to prepare research outputs and intervention materials with meticulous attention to detail, and tailored for diverse audiences. The Global Languages and Cultures Hub at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University was established in 2025 and is home to three dynamic centres: the Academic Literacies Centre (ALC), the English Language Centre (ELC), and the Modern Languages Centre (MLC).  The Modern Languages Centre (MLC) delivers high-quality language instruction and cultural education in Chinese, Japanese, and Spanish.   The Chinese Language Division offers diverse courses taught by 19 dedicated language lecturers. Students develop strong Chinese language skills and gain a deeper understanding of Suzhou’s and China’s unique cultures through tailored teaching materials and methodologies. Extracurricular cultural activities and field trips provide immersive, real-world opportunities to develop students’ communication skills and enhance their learning experience. Responsibilities and Duties Applications are invited for Chinese language teaching positions in the Global Cultures and Languages Hub at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) before 5th January, 2026. Additionally, there are opportunities for all staff to develop their careers by taking on wider managerial and administrative roles, as well as by contributing to both hub and university-level committees. All managerial, administrative and committee roles are appointed to on a fixed-term basis, thus providing all staff members with a range of options to take on responsibilities in areas that interest them. Qualifications/Experiences Successful applicants should be educated to Master’s degree level in a relevant area (e.g. Teaching Chinese as an International Language), and should have at least two years of post-master’s relevant teaching experience, preferably at university level. Additionally, applicants should have a good standard of written and spoken English, as this is the working language of the university. Familiarity with more than one language proficiency standard such as CEFR/HSK/ACTFL is a plus. The Ad Astra scheme involves students working under the supervision of an Ad Astra Fellow, a major recruitment initiative by University College Dublin. The Ad Astra Scholarships last for four years and includes an annual stipend of €25,000, a full fee-waiver, and an allowance of €4,000 per annum for research costs.
