The Kerman University of Medical Sciences (KMU) is a specialist higher education institution based in Kerman, south-east Iran. Established in 1978, the institution is the largest medical sciences university in the region, with around 6,000 students enrolled on more than 125 undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes. Teaching at KMU is shared across 10 schools including dentistry, pharmacy, nursing, healthcare management and traditional Persian medicine. The university also has a number of highly-regarded research institutes attached to it, including a centre for HIV and sexually transmitted disease which works in partnership with the World Health Organization. Its main campus is located in the centre of Kerman, an ancient city known for its rich culture and architecture, including historic mosques and Zoroastrian fire temples. There are five smaller satellite campuses located in Zarand and Sirjan. Student accommodation is available for home and international students at KMU. Dormitory-style rooms are private and gender segregated. Strict security rules apply to the dorms, and students are not permitted to carry alcohol, certain types of music or other items that are banned in Iran. Medical courses at KMU are very practical, and most degrees require students to work closely with local patients in associated hospitals. All students are therefore required to have a standard level of proficiency in speaking and understanding Persian as part of their studies. The university’s language centre provides Persian classes to students where necessary. Extracurricular activities including sports and entertainment are a regular feature of campus life at KMU, and all students are encouraged to make use of the university’s multi-purpose sports hall and on-site swimming pool and sauna. A number of sports competitions also take place at the university and teams take place in inter-university tournaments across the country.

As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on an industry innovation research project where you will be part of the research team to lead the storm surge modelling in the Singapore Sea. As a specialist in wave modelling software, the successful candidate will work on cutting-edge projects related to coastal and ocean wave modelling using Delt3D software. The role of the researcher is to perform physics-based modeling to build a numerical model that can predict storm surges in Singapore coastlines based on different weather conditions. The researcher will also work with team members within the consortium in generating necessary data required for developing a machine learning model for storm surge prediction. Key Responsibilities Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Undertake these responsibilities in the project: Delft3D and SWAN Modelling: Utilize Delft3D and SWAN software to develop and validate numerical models for wave propagation, storm surge modelling, and coastal dynamics. Building up of a database of sea level anomaly with extreme weather conditions: Utilize the developed numerical model to build a database of sea level anomaly with different weather conditions, which can be used to develop a data-driven model for storm surge prediction. Data Analysis: Process and analyze climate, ocean wave and coastal data to improve model accuracy. Research: Conduct research to enhance wave modelling techniques and contribute to the advancement of coastal engineering and oceanography. Impact Assessment: Evaluating the potential impacts of storm surges on coastal regions, including flood risk assessments and vulnerability analyses. Collaboration: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including hydrodynamic researchers, coastal engineers, and oceanographers. Reporting: Prepare research findings for publication in scientific journals and present results at conferences. Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers. Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment. Assists in co-supervision of Final Year Projects (FYP) or capstone projects students together with the project PI. The employee is to communicate with any relevant internal or external stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met. Any adhoc duties assigned. Requirements PhD or Master degree in a related field with a focus on coastal engineering, oceanography, or hydrodynamics. Proficiency in wave modeling software, particularly Delft3D and SWAN. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Research experience in coastal and ocean waves is preferred. The Keough-Naughton Institute for Irish Studies at the University of Notre Dame is seeking a highly organized and collaborative Research Programmes Manager to support the coordination and delivery of major international research initiatives and academic events at its Dublin office. This role comes at an exciting time of growth for the Institute. In 2024, the University of Notre Dame received a transformational gift to expand the Analysing and Researching Ireland, North and South (ARINS) Project, a major collaboration with the Royal Irish Academy. ARINS brings together leading scholars and policymakers to explore political, economic, and social issues shaping the future of Ireland. The Research Programmes Manager will play a key role in advancing ARINS and related initiatives by coordinating research activities, supporting collaboration among scholars across Ireland, the United Kingdom, and the United States, and helping deliver high-profile conferences, policy briefings, and public engagement events. Key Responsibilities Program Implementation (approximately 60%) The Research Programmes Manager will oversee the coordination and implementation of ARINS research programs, including new initiatives launching in 2026 that will bring together researchers from Ireland and internationally. Working closely with the Dublin Director and the broader Keough-Naughton Institute team, the manager will support the strategic development and long-term planning of ARINS programs. The role serves as a key administrative contact for ARINS initiatives, coordinating communication between Notre Dame teams in Dublin, Belfast, and South Bend; the Royal Irish Academy; and a wide network of faculty researchers and partner organizations. Responsibilities include coordinating research committees by scheduling meetings, managing timelines, and facilitating collaboration across institutions. The manager will also assist with preparing and sharing research outputs such as reports, publications, and program updates. Event planning is another central component of the role. The Research Programmes Manager will organize conferences, academic symposia, policy briefings, and public engagement events—both in person and virtually. This includes coordinating speakers, managing venues, arranging travel and accommodations, and working with vendors to ensure events run smoothly. The role will also oversee logistics for the MacGill Summer School, a prominent public affairs forum that brings together political leaders, scholars, journalists, and policymakers to discuss key issues affecting Ireland and the wider world. Knowledge Management and Stakeholder Engagement (approximately 20%) The Research Programmes Manager will help maintain and expand the Institute’s network of scholars, policymakers, and partner organizations by managing a database of collaborators connected to ARINS and related programs. The role will act as a liaison with universities, government bodies, and research organizations involved in ARINS initiatives. Working with Institute leadership, the manager will help identify opportunities to engage new strategic partners and strengthen existing relationships. This position will also support community-building among researchers and collaborators by sharing program updates, highlighting research impact, and helping maintain ongoing engagement with program participants and partners. Administration and Operations (approximately 20%) The role includes operational and administrative responsibilities that ensure research programs run effectively. The Research Programmes Manager will partner with finance and operations teams to track budgets, timelines, and program resources. Additional responsibilities include maintaining internal records related to ARINS programs and events, assisting with the coordination of temporary or student staff who support research initiatives, and providing administrative and project coordination support to the Dublin Director and senior academic leaders. The role We are seeking an ambitious and highly motivated postdoctoral Research Fellow in quantitative genetics to join a multidisciplinary research team. The post involves working with a team based at the University of Surrey, King’s College London and the University of Oxford. The post is based at the University of Surrey with Professor Angelica Ronald. The project aims to advance understanding of the brain basis and common genetic architecture underlying infant and childhood neurodevelopment, with a particular focus on the development of autism spectrum conditions. Objectives will be achieved by applying advanced multivariate analytic methods to large-scale datasets emerging from genome-wide association studies of developmental traits. Existing datasets, including genetic, neuroimaging and clinical data, will be combined to generate novel insights into biological and developmental processes contributing to autism and related traits. You will be responsible for conducting a range of advanced quantitative analysis on secondary datasets incorporating genetic, neuroimaging and clinical data on child development. You will have responsibility for supporting integration across the study team including: overseeing data transfer agreements between institutions; version-controlling and archiving code and leading data cleaning, harmonisation and analysis. Throughout the project you will work with an interdisciplinary team of lead investigators and external collaborators. You will have access to advanced methodological training courses and other professional development training opportunities. You will lead on high-impact publications, conference presentations and dissemination of results. About you You should have a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline such as quantitative genetics, behavioural genetics, human genetics, developmental psychology, neuroscience and individual differences psychology (although individuals who have almost completed a doctoral degree may be appointed). You will also have an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline with a 2:1 or first-class grade (or international equivalent). You will already have some experience in conducting quantitative data analytic studies and preparing data for analysis and be proficient in using R, Python or similar programming language. Description The Smart Materials Lab (Panče Naumov Group) at the Division of Science and Mathematics, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a highly motivated post-doctoral candidate in the areas of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for materials science, with an emphasis on structure-property-relationships, materials optimization, materials under extreme conditions, and generative AI. Candidates must possess substantial experience in artificial intelligence and machine learning methods, specifically in AI-driven materials discovery, machine learning applications for materials, or generative AI related to materials. The successful candidate will independently lead a project focused on developing generative AI models to establish structure-property relationships for materials discovery.
