The VGSE offers a broad three-year PhD program in economics focusing on specialized field courses, research seminars, and intensively supervised research time. The program is entirely run in English. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in a discipline related to endocrinology or biomedical sciences, with substantial research experience in metabolic diseases. They should have a proven track record of high-quality research as indicated by publication record and external grants. They should also have excellent project management and organizational skills, together with outstanding written and presentation skills. The appointee is expected to conduct independent and collaborative scholarly research and attract competitive grants to maintain active research programmes. He/She will take part in teaching postgraduate programmes, and supervise research postgraduate students. He/She is also expected to perform some administrative duties if necessary.
