Job Description The Head works collaboratively with colleagues inside and outside the School of Humanities, Languages and Social Science to achieve high quality outcomes in all School activities. The role calls for leadership as well as management capabilities, to ensure widespread support for advancing the School's vision and direction, especially its commitment to quality and distinctiveness. The Head of School will design and implement appropriate strategies to enable all academic and administrative staff to achieve the best of their capacity in the context of transparent and efficient governance. As HLSS is a cross-campus School, the Head will provide leadership in maintaining and enhancing the School as a unitary part of the organisation, as well as sound management in ensuring the most efficient delivery of its activities across the two campuses. The Head represents the School not only within the University, but also externally, and a key part of the role is to represent, promote and advocate for the School in the wider community, both locally and more widely. This includes working with Griffith's Office of Marketing and Communications and the Office of Advancement to build relationships with external groups and individuals, and to secure external funding and other support to help the School achieve its objectives. The university is seeking to employee a Research Assistant ( HEO 5) to support the delivery of a research project which received $980K funding through the Medical Research Fund Traumatic Brain Injury mission. The project, "Enhancing Community Engagement in Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Rehabilitation Through the Social Brain Toolkit" involves developing and piloting an innovative model of care - the Social Brain Clinic. The Social Brain Clinic involves student speech pathologists and mentors with lived experience of TBI working together to provide online programs to rebuild communication skills, to people with TBI located across Australia. This role will be embedded within the University of Sydney's ABI Communication Lab (Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) Communication Lab - ABI Communication Lab) - a dynamic team of researchers, academics and clinicians who are developing innovative approaches in brain injury rehabilitation. The successful candidate will play an integral role in the multidisciplinary project team. They will take on a range of responsibilities including providing practice education for speech pathology students, supporting research data collection and management, developing resources and project communications, and participating in strategic planning for sustainability of this new clinic. Full-Time | Continuing Higher Education Officer Level 8 – Final salary will be commensurate with experience Location: Bedford Park / Kaurna Country View Position Description About the Role The Senior Security Operations Engineer is responsible for implementing cyber security initiatives across the University and carrying out and implementing specialised cyber security controls, services, and activities, along with supporting the research and evaluation of procedural and technical controls and solutions that can be applied to provide security to the University’s IT networks and systems. You will work closely with other practitioners and teams to ensure the ongoing security and effectiveness of the University’s network and system assets, and the stable and continuous operation of the University’s mission-critical systems and applications. Key position responsibilities include: Configuring, deploying and maintaining new and existing security platforms, including email filtering, firewall, intrusion prevention/detection systems, and VPN and host protection systems. Managing the ongoing application of the IDS risk register, identifying and ensuring the management of key risks that may impact on the security of the University’s systems and networks. Supporting with identifying technological trends and developing reports as necessary to keep IDS management apprised of information security threats and planned equipment or software changes that could impact system and network security and availability.
