Joseph Sarwuan Tarka University was previously named the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi and changed to its current name in 2019. The university has colleges in agronomy, animal science, agricultural economics and extension, agricultural science and education, engineering, food technology, forestry and fisheries, management sciences, science and veterinary medicine. Students have access to internships where they learn about the challenges facing village farmers, while conducting research into these issues. Research centres include those devoted to seed technology, agrochemicals and food security, as well as the World Bank-funded Centre for Innovation in Procurement, Environment and Social Standards (CIPRESS)

Job Purpose The Professional Officer and Design Factory Centre Manager plays a key role in advancing SIT’s mission to integrate learning, research, and innovation through design-led approaches. The position supports the management and strategic development of the Design Factory, leading human-centred research, applied innovation projects, and industry collaborations that bridge education and enterprise. The incumbent will apply design thinking, systems thinking, and future-oriented methods to guide multidisciplinary teams in creating impactful products, services, and experiences. This role also oversees project management, partner engagement, and operational administration to ensure the Centre’s effective delivery of teaching, research, and partnership outcomes. Key Responsibilities Human Factors and User-Centred Research Conduct applied research using design thinking, systems thinking, and futures methodologies. Apply human factors and ergonomics to enhance product, service, and experience design outcomes. Facilitate user studies, usability testing, and co-creation workshops. Mentor students and project teams on user research and design process application. Product and Service Development Lead or support innovation projects spanning physical and digital domains. Translate research insights into design opportunities and prototypes. Support iterative prototyping, testing, and validation with stakeholders. Contribute to the development of new tools, methods, and frameworks for design innovation. Partner and Business Development Develop and manage relationships with industry, community, and government partners. Identify collaboration opportunities and prepare proposals, project scopes, and agreements. Represent the Design Factory in outreach, exhibitions, and partnership forums. Project Management Plan, implement, and monitor multiple concurrent projects. Manage budgets, procurement, and reporting for internal and external initiatives. Ensure projects meet deliverables, quality standards, and compliance requirements. Administrative and Operational Duties Oversee daily operations of the Design Factory, including facilities, safety, and scheduling. Support academic delivery through preparation of learning resources, demonstrations, and supervision of student work. Maintain records, documentation, and performance metrics for projects and collaborations. Strategic Planning and Execution Contribute to strategic planning and long-term development of the Design Factory. Identify opportunities for programme growth in human-centred design, circular innovation, and applied R&D. Support institutional goals through cross-cluster collaboration and innovation leadership. Job Requirements Degree in Design, Human Factors, Industrial Design, Engineering, Innovation Management, or a related discipline. Minimum 5 years of professional experience in user-centred design, innovation consulting, or R&D. Experience in project management and stakeholder engagement within an academic or industry context. Familiarity with design research methods, prototyping, and applied learning environments. Prior experience managing facilities, partnerships, or interdisciplinary teams is an advantage.

Introduction As a University of Applied Learning, the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) collaborates actively with industry in our research work. We seek a motivated candidate who is keen on rigorous research, the practical applications of code exfiltration and reverse engineering as well as security penetration testing. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on an industry innovation research project where you will be part of a research team to investigate and determine potentially critical Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) drone system vulnerabilities impacting confidentiality, integrity and availability. Key Responsibilities Participate in the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PIs and research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Initiate and help guide work and demonstrations in the following tasks: Firmware extraction and reverse engineering. Study, understand and analyse mobile platform applications. Design, develop and test AI-driven security testing techniques. Design, develop and test control augmentation techniques. Adaptation of developed techniques for more generic use. Perform project documentation and technical mentoring of student assistants. Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment.  Job Requirements A good degree in Computer Science / Engineering, preferably with a relevant postgraduate qualification for Research Fellow. Proficiency with firmware extraction and reverse engineering. Proficiency with penetration testing techniques and tools. Position Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled postdoctoral researcher to join a multidisciplinary research project dedicated to the sustainable valorization of non-conventional phosphates (including phosphates sludges) and the development of beneficiation processes (classification, grinding and flotation or others). The successful candidate will lead research efforts to evaluate the feasibility of upgrading non-conventional phosphates by flotation or other techniques. This work will involve mineralogical and chemical characterization, process testing at laboratory scale, and techno-economic evaluation of developed routes. The project contributes to Morocco’s strategic objectives in resource valorization, environmental sustainability, and circular economy, in close collaboration with academic and industrial partners. Area of Research: Sustainable mineral processing, with emphasis on phosphates beneficiation and process optimization. Main responsibilities: Conduct literature review on phosphate ore and waste processing and valorization; Operate and maintain mineral processing and analytical instruments; Design and execute laboratory-scale experiments for beneficiation (flotation, and others); Assess process parameters to optimize recovery and product quality; Evaluate potential valorization routes for process by-products and residues; Analyze, interpret, and synthesize experimental data to support process development; Contribute to the economic and environmental assessment of developed processes; Contribute to the preparation of scientific reports, publications, and technical notes. Collaborate with researchers, engineers, and students on project activities. Participate in regular project reviews and research meetings. Collaborate with internal teams, partner laboratories, and industrial stakeholders. Position Title: Postdoctoral Researcher – Potash brine and phosphogypsum valorization. Duration: 12 months. Position Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled postdoctoral researcher to join a multidisciplinary research project dedicated to the sustainable valorization of potash brine and phosphogypsum, with a specific focus on bioleaching technologies. The successful candidate will contribute to advancing the use of environmentally friendly bioleaching techniques for the extraction of valuable resources from these industrial by-products. The project embedded in a circular economy approach aimed at reducing environmental impacts while creating value from industrial co-products, namely phosphogypsum and residual brines generated by sedimentary potash processing activities. The postdoctoral researcher will investigate the valorization of each material separately through physicochemical and biological approaches, with the objective of identifying optimal pathways for resource recovery. The project will also focus on the combined treatment of phosphogypsum and brines, studying the synergistic and symbiotic effects arising from their interaction within integrated bioprocesses. This work will contribute to the development of innovative and sustainable strategies for the recovery of sulfur, magnesium, potassium and other valuable elements from industrial residues. Area of Research: Valorization of industrial by-products derived from sedimentary potash processing and phosphoric acid production. The research will involve physicochemical and biological treatment approaches for potash brines and phosphogypsum, as well as the development of integrated processes exploiting potential synergistic effects between both materials within a circular economy framework. Main responsibilities: Conduct a comprehensive literature review on potash brine management, phosphogypsum valorization, and related physicochemical and biological processing routes. Perform chemical, mineralogical, and physicochemical characterization of potash brines and phosphogypsum. Design and carry out laboratory-scale experiments to investigate separate valorization pathways for brines and phosphogypsum; Develop and evaluate integrated treatment strategies combining both materials, with particular attention to synergistic and symbiotic effects; Study process parameters affecting the recovery of sulfur, magnesium, potassium, and other valuable elements; Analyze, interpret, and synthesize experimental results to support process optimization; Contribute to the assessment of the environmental and sustainability performance of the developed processes; Prepare scientific publications, technical reports, and presentations; Candidate Profile: Required qualifications : PhD in chemical Engineering, biotechnology or related discipline.
