The name of the university "Jinan" comes from "The Tribute of Yu" in the Book of History, one of the Confucian Classics, which reads, "Reaching Eastward to the North and South, we shall spread the culture far and wide". 

Though going through ups and downs with the history of the nation since its founding in 1906, Jinan University has never lost its way in the pursuit of truth and knowledge. Under the guidance of the school motto "loyalty, sincerity, integrity and respect", in line with the aim of "modernization, internationalization and comprehensiveness", Jinan University has been developing quickly in recent years and has turned out more than 200,000 graduates.

As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Future ship and system design (FSSD) program develop strategic and innovative design capabilities for maritime industry in Singapore and beyond. The work package WP2.4 in FSSD will conduct research in the areas of autonomous system dynamic modeling, simulation, testing, data and video analytics, machine learning algorithms and platform programing. The testing will be done both in lab, reservoir/sea and onboard ships. The primary responsibility of this role is to work on and deliver the project together with P2-4 team and be part of the research team in the FSSD program. Key Responsibilities Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met.  Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment. Carry out any additional work tasks assigned by the supervisor. To communicate with any relevant internal or external stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met.  Job Requirements Have relevant competence in the areas of system modeling, simulation testing for both hardware and software. Have a degree in engineering / applied physics, electrical, mechanical, marine, computer engineering or equivalent.  Key Competencies Good knowledge in system modeling, programming, simulations, data analytics. The Role and the Department Research and Innovation Services (RIS) provides guidance, expert advice and hands on support for all aspects of research and research related activity, including securing funding, working with partners, supporting knowledge exchange and impact, commercialisation, and ensuring good research practice. The Research Operations Team, the largest team within the Directorate, provides comprehensive support to academic and Professional Support Services (PSS) colleagues across the full lifecycle of a research project. The team delivers pre award, contracting, post award and consultancy support. This includes tailored financial and contractual advice from the earliest stages of planning, costing and pricing proposals, through to efficient contract negotiation and robust financial management and compliance for awarded projects. This is a new two year fixed term post within the Contracting Hub. The Research Contracts Manager will provide professional support in the drafting, review, negotiation and management of research agreements. The post holder will help ensure that the University's legal, financial and reputational interests are protected while supporting the effective delivery of research activity. The role includes line management of a Research Contracts Officer, providing guidance, day to day support and contributing to their ongoing professional development. The post holder reports to a Senior Research Contracts Manager and will work closely with colleagues across academic departments and central professional services, as well as external partners and funders. The role will include: Drafting, reviewing and negotiating research contracts, ensuring agreements are clear, accurate and aligned with University and funder requirements. Supporting the development and maintenance of the contracts workflow management system (Worktribe), helping to improve efficiency and data quality. Keeping contract templates, standard clauses and guidance materials up to date and consistent with sector best practice. Monitoring and interpreting changes to funder terms and conditions, ensuring updates are reflected in internal processes and contractual positions. Managing the contractual aspects of project transfers into and out of the University, ensuring obligations and responsibilities are handled smoothly. Providing day to day support, supervision and direction to the Research Contracts Officer, including workload planning and professional development.
