Description We are inviting applications for a full-time Post-Doctoral Associate in the Division of Social Science at NYU Abu Dhabi from individuals who have or will soon receive a PhD in Political Science, Economics or a related discipline. The appointment will begin September 1, 2026, subject to final budget approval and is available for up to three years. The post-doctoral associate will spend half their time on independent research and half their time on collaborative research with Professors Giuliana Pardelli and Jeffrey Jensen. The collaborative research will be in the field of political economy, with an emphasis on projects related to fiscal and institutional development. The ideal candidate will possess advanced methodological skills, including experience managing and analyzing large, complex datasets, as well as familiarity with machine learning workflows, natural language processing (NLP), and text-as-data methods. We are especially interested in applicants who demonstrate a strong substantive interest in using empirical tools to study political institutions, fiscal systems, and long-run development. The position does not require teaching, but it may be possible to get teaching experience for compensation. You would join a group of over 20 post-doctoral fellows and 70 faculty in the Division of Social Science.
