As the first psychology department in Hong Kong, established in 1968, our department has a rich history of academic excellence. Ranked 3rd in Asia and 35th worldwide in the 2026 QS World University Ranking in the subject of Psychology, our 25 faculty members and over 100 research postgraduates and postdoctoral fellows actively engage in a wide range of research areas, including clinical and health psychology, cognitive psychology and neuropsychology, developmental and educational psychology, human neuroscience and artificial intelligence, as well as social and personality psychology. Our department offers comprehensive undergraduate, taught postgraduate, MPhil, and PhD programs in psychology. Applicant must hold a Ph.D. in Psychology or a related discipline, demonstrating expertise in applying Artificial Intelligence to address pressing mental health challenges. Candidates with a strong interdisciplinary foundation in psychological theories and AI techniques are particularly encouraged to apply. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCES A doctoral research (normally PhD) degree in electrical and electronics, mechatronics, intelligent controls, robotics engineering, computer science, artificial intelligence, computer vision, mobile robotics, machine learning, data science and analytics, or be able to demonstrate an equivalent professional practice and engagement. Previous experience in coding (C/C++, Python, ROS etc) in robotics-related domains. Self-motivated for innovative teaching. Clear understanding of the philosophy and concept of Syntegrative Education (SE). Demonstrable past teaching/industry experiences or practices aligned with Syntegrative Education (SE). A commitment to Continual Professional Development in all areas of the role as an academic at the university. Ability to work, teach and research in English Strong team-work spirit. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE A good track record of engagement with business and industry. University-level teaching experience. Relevant industry experience. Appropriate research experience, including working with industry, for the corresponding academic position level.
