We are now seeking a Liaison Manager for Fundraising to join the Communications and Community Relations sector.  Liaison Manager for Fundraising If appointed, you will oversee the University’s fundraising, donor relations, and fundraising campaigns and services as part of a professional fundraising team. You will manage your customer relationship portfolio and develop and implement fundraising projects and donor relations in close collaboration with the University’s leadership. Who you are  You hold a relevant higher education degree and have experience of, and a clear vision for, target-driven sales and partnership development, as well as fundraising and donor relations with key groups such as private individuals, foundations and business partners. You are familiar with managing demanding stakeholder relationships, eager to learn, and able to inspire and persuade collaborators both within the University and across its partner network. You work flexibly as part of a team while handling your responsibilities independently and responsibly. The role requires a solution-oriented, development-focused and efficient approach to work. You have strong written and presentation skills and are able to build and maintain networks. Alongside our primary working language, Finnish, you are fluent in English; proficiency in Swedish as a working language is considered an asset.  Why work for the University? As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on a research project where you will be part of the research team to develop yeast and fungi for food ingredient and biochemical production. The specific goals are: Metabolic engineering of Yarrowia and Candida yeasts for organic acid production Design and optimization of fermentation method in 10L and 100L stirred tank vessels Key Responsibilities: Fulfill the primary responsibilities within the project: i. Deliver structured presentations of research plans and findings every two weeks. ii. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior research engineers and undergraduate students working in the same research field. iii. Prepare scientific manuscripts for reporting and potential publication (as first or co-author). Prepare writeup for new research grant application Support undergraduate lab class conduct where applied research outcomes are utilized in undergraduate teaching. Conduct thorough risk assessments and ensure adherence to work, safety, and health regulations for all research activities. Coordinate procurement activities with licensed vendors for research items. Job Requirements: Have a relevant PhD degree in Biochemistry or Biochemical Engineering Have at least 1 year experience with the metabolic engineering of Yarrowia and Candida yeasts, including foreign gene expression and gene deletion. Have at least 1 year experience with the use of bioreactor, HPLC-MS and GC-MS. Prior experience in the genetic manipulation of filamentous fungi cell line engineering is advantageous. The successful candidate will be expected to lead and deliver individual and collaborative research and teaching in the area of electrical and electronic engineering, particularly on VLSI/Embedded System and contribute to the direction of research programmes in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. The role will be responsible for generating new intellectual understanding/knowledge through the application of knowledge and for developing ideas for application of research and teaching outcomes. The post holder will develop new concepts and ideas and will be expected, where appropriate, to develop and win support for innovative research and/or teaching development proposals and funding bids. The post holder will make a significant contribution to their academic unit via leadership and/or administrative management and/or co-ordination of specific initiatives. Salary will be within the range of 635,038 RMB to 780,622 RMB (Associate Professor) or RMB 450,190 to RMB 592,815 (Assistant Professor) per annum, depending on qualifications and experience (salary progression beyond this is subject to performance). In addition, an attractive package including employment support allowance, schooling and insurance will be provided for international appointments.
