Classification: Academic Level A  Salary package: $89,313 - $112,103 per annum plus 17% superannuation Terms: Full time, Fixed Term (up to 18 months)  Position Description and Selection Criteria:PD&PEWER_Level A_Postdoctoral Officer_CPAS.CSS_2026.pdf About the opportunity This position is a fixed term for a period of 18 months to contribute to a new project led by Professor Sujatha Raman titled, “Addressing the Resilience of Indo-Pacific Alkaline Electrolysers.” This project is part of a multi-institutional consortium led by the University of Sydney and funded through the Australian Government’s Clean Energy Supply Chain Diversification Program. The project brings together partners across Australia, Indonesia, Singapore, French Polynesia, and Vietnam to develop resilient and responsible nickel supply chains and advance green hydrogen technology in the Indo-Pacific and will work under the direction of Dr Rini Astuti day-to-day. Applications are particularly invited from researchers who undertake high impact collaborative and cross-disciplinary research, and whose interests/expertise contribute to the activity cluster, School, and College. About the School/Department The Australian National Centre for the Public Awareness of Science (CPAS) has responsibility for teaching, research, public policy and outreach in the field of Science Communication. It is Australia’s largest and leading Centre in the discipline and has existing and emerging partnerships across Australia and internationally. CPAS works with a broad definition of science (including STEM) and science communication to include public engagement, transdisciplinary research for sustainability, responsible innovation, the science/policy interface, and the epistemic, ethical and social aspects of research and technological change. Schemes of Service: Research Division: Engineering Employment Type: Fixed Term As a University of Applied Learning, the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) works closely with industry in its research pursuits. This position is situated within the SIT x NVIDIA AI Centre (SNAIC). This role is part of an industry innovation project with a large consumer goods company, where you will develop an evaluation framework for vision-language model (VLM) with applications in the personal care sector. The research focuses on fine-grained VLM capabilities such as spatial reasoning, temporal grounding, event tracking, and domain knowledge using a curated multimodal dataset. Key Responsibilities Manage the research project together with the Principal Investigator (PI) and industry partner to ensure all project deliverables are met Design and implement evaluation frameworks and metrics for vision-language models Develop annotated video datasets and capability-tagged evaluation tasks Build end-to-end evaluation pipelines and failure mode analysis tools to analyze VLM performance across reasoning dimensions Prepare technical reports, publications, and industry-facing deliverables Mentor student assistants Candidates are to communicate with any internal or external parties to ensure project deliverables are met. Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned by Supervisor.
