Established in 1985, the Islamic Azad University, Najafabad Branch (IAUN) – also known as the University of Najafabad – was the first independent branch of the Islamic Azad University system, located in Najafabad in Iran. IAUN now educates around 26,000 university students a year across 250 different majors. Students can gain both undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral degrees within a wide variety of subjects, including: electrical engineering, computer engineering, civil engineering, medical science, arts and urbanism, human science, nursing and midwifery, and law and theology. On campus, students have everything they need including nine dormitories, three mosques, eight meeting and conference halls seating 5,000 people, a five-story hospital located in Isfahan and the largest academic library in Iran spread across eight floors. On campus, students are actively encouraged to take part in sports activities. There are 17 sport complexes offering indoor and outdoor facilities for bodybuilding, karate, gymnastics, basketball, volleyball, chess, handball, badminton, judo and taekwondo. There’s also an indoor swimming pool (with wet and dry sauna and jacuzzi) as well as indoor and outdoor fields. The university also has partnerships with other universities worldwide offering students the chance to spend a year studying abroad. IAUN also welcomes international students to its campus. IAUN offers a small number of scholarships designed to recognise and award academic excellence and provide access to high-performing students regardless of their circumstance.

Our School of Academic Psychiatry comprises of five clinical departments of psychiatry: Addictions, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Forensic and Neurodevelopmental Science, Psychological Medicine and Psychosis Studies. These include more than 100 Principal Investigators, with research grants of £30-40 million. We have programmes covering the whole spectrum of psychiatry from public policy to molecular genetics, from peri-natal to old age and from psychological treatments to brain imaging. Our work covers the entire life span, healthy adults and children as well as of course people with physical and mental health conditions.  About the role The post holder will work across the school with key stakeholders to embed research administration best practice and support grants with specialist funding requirements. The role is responsible for ensuring that policies and processes are working effectively, continuously reviewing them, overseeing service provision, and ensuring all stakeholder needs are met. The role would suit an experienced research administration professional who can clearly articulate policies and processes, possesses strong problem-solving skills and experience, and can build and maintain effective working relationships across the School, Faculty, and University. The role will provide individuals with a wide variety of experience and skills in research administration within a large and complex School and Faculty, supporting their career progression in this field across the University. This is a hybrid role, requiring a minimum of 2 working days per week in the office. GLAD Senior Lived Experience Research Lead

About us The post will be based in the KCL Social, Genetic, and Developmental Psychiatry Centre, within the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN). The centre offers a diverse research environment that is open, welcoming and supportive to all. The faculty-wide initiatives are supported by an active Diversity & Inclusion Team. The Social, Genetic & Developmental Psychiatry (SGDP) Centre is uncovering the genetic and environmental influences on mental health and psychiatric disorders. Our research encompasses behavioural genetics, molecular genetics, experimental psychology and psychiatry, and neuroimaging. Scientists at the SGDP lead some of the UK’s foremost longitudinal cohort and twin studies including TEDS, eRISK, Dunedin, IMAGEN and GLAD. The NIHR BioResource Centre Maudsley leads the NIHR BioResource for Mental Health. We focus on recruiting participants experiencing mental health conditions, as well as healthy people. Alongside GLAD MHG and The GLAD study, Prof. Breen’s team boasts an accomplished portfolio of clinical and genetic studies which aim to improve treatment and outcomes for those affected by anxiety, depression, eating disorders and other mental health conditions. About the role We are seeking a passionate and committed Lived Experience Researcher to join Professor Gerome Breen’s internationally recognised team at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Neuroscience at King’s College London. This unique role sits within the GLAD-MHG Omics Cohort, one of the UK’s most ambitious precision psychiatry initiatives, hosted in the NIHR BioResource Centre Maudsley and supported by the UK Government’s Office for Life Sciences. The GLAD-MHG Omics Cohort, supported by a prestigious award from the UK Government’s Office for Life Sciences, builds on the existing NIHR BioResource GLAD Study (>38,000 participants) and is based at KCL’s Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology, and Neuroscience. The new programme will recruit an additional 12,000 individuals with recurrent MDD, including 2,500 with longitudinal biosampling. High-quality blood samples will be collected for whole-genome sequencing, epigenetics, and biomarker profiling, alongside detailed digital phenotyping (wearables, speech AI) and NHS medical record linkage. All data will be securely integrated and curated within the DATAMIND Trusted Research Environment, ensuring national and international impact. As a Lived Experience Researcher, you will ensure that participant perspectives are embedded throughout the project – from shaping recruitment and study materials, to guiding analytical priorities and interpreting results. You will work closely with researchers, clinicians, and industry partners, ensuring that this internationally significant dataset is not only scientifically rigorous but also authentically patient-centred. The role will be hosted in the highly supportive departmental environment of the Social, Genetic, and Developmental Psychiatry (SGDP) Centre. You will work with a team committed to incorporating lived experience expertise and supporting lived experience researchers within our group. This is a rare opportunity to influence one of the world’s largest and most deeply characterised mental health cohorts, to further develop skills at the interface of research and public involvement, and to make a lasting impact on the future of precision psychiatry. The post will operate within the CoSTAR National Lab led by Royal Holloway University of London with Pinewood Studios, BT, University of Surrey, Abertay University, Disguise, National Film and Television School and Surrey County Council.  The role is funded until January 2027, with an extension likely to be granted. We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible.  The successful candidate will work closely with industry and academic partners within the CoSTAR Network. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and development in AI for creative industries, while shaping best practices for compute usage and training.  Key responsibilities include:  Supporting CoSTAR R&D activities including the planning and carrying out of specific activities, often in collaboration with colleagues and partners.  Supporting onboarding and troubleshooting activities for CoSTAR AI compute as well as gathering feedback from users. Developing and maintaining key documentation and training materials for the CoSTAR AI Compute infrastructure in collaboration with the wider Surrey Research Computing Services team.  Delivering training sessions for CoSTAR compute users both locally and online.  Leading and collaborating with the CoSTAR Creative AI team, partner Universities and industry across on joint research, development and integration to develop new tools and technologies.  Supporting CoSTAR industry partners in using the CoSTAR AI compute and the development of AI models and applications.  Pursuing and advocating responsible and open research and innovation to ensure ethical, fair and inclusive advances in science, technology and use of data.  Continually update knowledge, develop skills and stay up to date with current research trends and best practice in software development. We are recruiting a Lived Experience Advisory Board Co-ordinator to help us work in partnership with people with lived experience. About the role: As the Lived Experience Advisory Board Coordinator, the post holder will coordinate and champion the activities and participation of our Lived Experience Advisory Board (LEAB) in the Centre, and more broadly in King’s. This will include strengthening the identity of the LEAB and ensuring that all members are strongly connected to, and impact, the work of the Centre and King’s more broadly. The postholder will also share responsibility for managing the LEAB’s budget to meet the priorities of both the LEAB and the Centre, and will help deliver LEAB-initiated projects. We also hope that the postholder will work with us to champion lived experience involvement within and beyond King’s College London, drive innovative practices in this area, and communicate insights in ways that lead to change. All shortlisted candidates will be offered the opportunity to meet some LEAB members in an informal, online meeting, and to come and visit the Centre for Society and Mental Health. Applicants should possess a relevant Master’s degree with demonstrated expertise in  teaching Spanish to non-native speakers, plus at least 5 years of experience in teaching courses at the tertiary level.
