Role Overview As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have opportunities to tackle real-world, industry-relevant problems, working alongside faculty members and professional officers. The SIT Centre for Intelligent Robotics (CIR) is an applied research centre responsible for developing and maintaining core applied robotics and embodied AI capabilities for real-world deployment. CIR is seeking a Robotics Engineer to implement state-of-the-art learning-based robotic manipulation methods on physical platforms for industry-driven applications, with an emphasis on contact-rich manipulation, robustness, and safe operation. The successful candidate will work closely with physical robots to translate recent advances in learning-based robotics into reliable, deployable systems. Key Responsibilities Implement, adapt, and evaluate state-of-the-art learning-based methods (e.g. imitation learning) for contact-rich robotic manipulation. Integrate hardware and software components into a functional system for real-world deployment. Design and execute field trials (test protocols, data logging, troubleshooting, reliability improvements). Produce technical documentation, reports, and implementation guides to support knowledge transfer and maintainability. Support project procurement activities (e.g., technical specifications, vendor evaluation, quotations) for robotics hardware, sensors, and compute resources. Contribute to publications and technical notes to disseminate research outcomes. To communicate and liaise with any internal and external stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met. Any other ad-hoc duties assigned by supervisor. Requirements Bachelor’s degree or higher in Robotics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field. Experience in imitation learning and reinforcement learning for robotics applications. Hands-on familiarity with robotic manipulators and motion planning. Proficiency in deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow. Experience with ROS / ROS 2 for real-robot software integration. Proficiency in Python and C++, with good software engineering practices (version control, testing, maintainable code). Familiarity with robotics simulation tools such as Gazebo, Isaac Sim, or MuJoCo. At least 2 years of experience in robotics research or industry projects.

Contract type: Permanent Salary: Full time starting salary is normally in the range of £48,760 to £58,664 per annum, with potential progression to £71,050 per annum Apply by: 14/05/2026 Role Description About the Role The Senior International Development Manager will be responsible for overseeing both setting and shaping international marketing and sales strategy to establish partnerships for research consultancy and advisory as well as attracting international students in the designated regions. It will also provide strategic leadership in the shaping of the Cranfield University international strategy, to grow regional revenue through research and educational partnerships as well as recruiting international students and direction of the agent network, identification of partnerships and carrying out of the relevant due diligence processes in the designated regions. The post holder is responsible for overseeing representing the University and will play a major role in protecting and growing the international activities for the University. This role will focus on our Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Middle East markets, and we may involve you in other areas. As a key member of the International Team the post holder will have significant oversight of international marketing, recruitment and partnership functions. The post holder will possess excellent communication, negotiation, organisational skills and initiative to ensure strategic alignment that the most efficient and effective systems are in place to support achieving the international strategy. You will also be able to demonstrate success in developing and managing effective international networks and external relationships as well as being a skilled diplomat with deep cultural awareness. Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have excellent communication and networking skills being comfortable identifying, researching and building relationships across a range of stakeholders including students, local representatives, Government organisations, partners, alumni and sponsorship bodies. You will be experienced in higher education international student recruitment and you should be used to working to meet tight deadlines in a pressurised customer focussed environment.
