Reporting to the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Research and Innovation, the Pro Vice-Chancellor (PVC) Translational and International Research will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of research commercialisation and business development activity to drive the University’s research engagement and translation activity. This role also brings the opportunity to develop, and with Colleges and Institutes, implement an international research strategy, aligned with external opportunity and the University Research Strategy. Positioning Adelaide as Australia’s premier for-purpose research university, the PVC will lead a multi-functional portfolio spanning Research Business Development, Research Commercialisation, translational research projects and international research acquisition. Working at the intersection of academia and industry, the successful candidate will lead the development of a more integrated, commercial and high-performing model and play a pivotal role in enabling research translation and enhancing outcomes for students, staff and partners. About the Job We are seeking a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Counselling and Psychotherapy to contribute to teaching, research, clinical supervision, and academic leadership across our undergraduate and postgraduate counselling provision. The post holder will contribute to the academic, professional, research, and administrative activities of the Counselling Cluster within the Department of Social Work, Counselling and Social Care, and, where appropriate, across the wider School. The role includes module leadership, teaching across a range of counselling-related subjects, assessment and feedback, supervision of student research projects, and participation in admissions, recruitment, and academic administration. Teaching will be delivered primarily face-to-face at our Stratford Campus, with some online delivery as required. The role also involves providing high-quality clinical supervision and supporting students to integrate theory, research, and professional practice in line with BACP and other relevant professional standards. The post holder will be expected to engage in scholarly activity and contribute to the continued development and growth of the counselling portfolio, as well as to the wider research culture of the Department and School. About You We are looking for an enthusiastic, student-focused academic and practitioner who is passionate about counselling education, clinical practice, and widening participation in higher education. You will hold a BACP-accredited postgraduate qualification in Counselling and Psychotherapy and/or Counselling and Coaching and be qualified to teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You will be registered with a relevant professional body (preferably BACP), ideally accredited or eligible to apply for accreditation. You will be able to demonstrate significant experience of counselling practice, alongside experience of teaching and/or training in higher education or a comparable professional context. Experience of clinical supervision, research supervision, module leadership, and curriculum development is highly desirable, as is a strong commitment to scholarly activity and professional development. You will bring excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, and a clear commitment to inclusive, ethical, and reflective practice. An understanding of, and commitment to, supporting diverse student cohorts and working flexibly (including occasional evenings and Saturdays) is essential. The Role and Department The Department's undergraduate curriculum is notable for its historical and cultural breadth, combining compulsory modules in Theory, Shakespeare and an independent Dissertation, with a range of period-based modules taught by lectures and tutorials, and research-led special topic semininars. There are thriving MA programmes in English Literary Studies and in Creative Writing, and a lively community of PhD students. Applications are invited for a Teaching Fellow in Medieval Literature . This is a 1.0 FTE position for 12 months only. The successful applicant will: potentially contribute to the Department's provision of Old English deliver lectures as required in these areas supervise Level 3 undergraduate dissertations potentially supervise MA theses contribute to lively and stimulating small group teaching, in person undertake assessment and examination of UG and MA student work, in and beyond Medieval literature act as an Academic Advisor to a group of UG students participate in the meetings of the Department as appropriate pursue opportunities for personal development The post-holder will report to the Head of Department. Teaching Fellowships offer the opportunity of valuable experience to those early in their academic careers and the University is keen to maximise the benefit to as many people as possible.The post of Teaching Fellow will involve a significant teaching load, which may extend into the summer period, and there may be related scholarship and the opportunity for administrative duties which relate to education and pedagogy.
