The Instituto Superior de Ciências de Educação do Sumbe started in 1999 as part of the Cuanza Sul University Hub. It is now part of Katyavala Bwila University and is a key centre for teacher training and education in Angola, based in the city of Sumbe.
It offers eight undergraduate degrees, such as psychology, mathematics and Portuguese language teaching, plus master’s programmes in preschool and primary education. Many of the teachers are highly qualified, with 18 holding doctorates and 26 holding master’s degrees.
The Instituto Superior de Ciências de Educação do Sumbe works not only on education but also on encouraging entrepreneurship, reducing poverty and sharing knowledge across Angola. Over 2,300 graduates work in education, and new doctoral programmes are being planned to boost research.

Location: Bedford Park / Kaurna Country View Position Description About the Role Our mission is to help students feel supported and empowered with confidence to succeed at University. As our Student Success & Wellbeing Coordinator, you will lead the strategic delivery of student success and wellbeing services and initiatives to ensure the delivery of high-quality guidance and support to students. The position is responsible for the operational oversight of the Student Success and Wellbeing Advisor (SSWA) team, including managing the team's workflow, triaging and allocation of student cases and implementation of quality assurance processes to enhance the student experience, retention, and success. As a member of the Student Life division, the Student Success and Wellbeing Coordinator leads the identification and execution of proactive outreach campaigns, events, and interventions across the student lifecycle. The role acts as a primary liaison between Student Life, the Colleges, and student service areas across the University. The role also works collaboratively with Student Success Leads to design and monitor targeted support services for specific equity cohorts. This is a hugely rewarding role, as you lead the design and execution of targeted outreach campaigns focusing on critical milestones like orientation, census dates, and academic progress cycles, and see the results first-hand. About You With experience coordinating high-volume case management or triage systems for a team, (preferably within a mental health or student support context), whilst also managing a personal case load, you possess high level interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate and liaise effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including students from a diverse background and staff. Description The Research Center on Stability, Instability and Turbulence (SITE) a center of the Research Institute, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Post-Doctoral Associate to work in the fluid mechanics laboratory for experimental fluid dynamics.
