Full time, fixed term for 2 years, located on the Camperdown Campus, University of Sydney Unique opportunity for an early career entomologist to lead impactful research Base Salary $113K + 17% superannuation About the opportunity Funded through the extraordinary generosity of Professor Aola Richards, this fellowship supports one outstanding early-career researcher to lead an independent research programme in entomology at The University of Sydney, hosted within a supporting research group. The fellowship provides protected research time, mentorship, and practical enabling support so the fellow can deliver ambitious, high-quality insect science within a two-year term. It is designed to be both research- and training-intensive: the fellow is supported to deepen technical and conceptual expertise, build leadership and collaboration capability, and strengthen translation and engagement where relevant. The goal is to equip the fellow for diverse next-step pathways across academia, museums, government, industry, consulting, and conservation and community organisations. Job Description: The Department invites applications for the above positions. Preference will be given to applicants with expertise in one or more of the following areas: Management: Organisational Behaviour, Human Resources Management, Strategic Management, Research Methods. Associate Professor / Assistant Professor / Research Assistant Professor (25260456) The Academy invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant/Associate Professor level and Research Assistant Professor. We seek candidates with expertise in AI and one or more of the following areas: language studies, cultural studies, humanities, and translation. Scholars with experience in developing AI technology or AI-empowered research projects are particularly encouraged to apply. We are especially interested in candidates who are committed to transdisciplinary teaching and research, and to developing and expanding the humanities with computational or technical expertise. Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong technology skills and knowledge of AI methods, with a proven ability to advance creative expression and innovation. An ability to collaborate with colleagues from different departments in the Academy is fundamental. Applicants with a proven international research record and a history of securing external research grants will be given preference. Candidates should demonstrate methodological innovation and interdisciplinary integration in their research. An active research programme in areas related to language studies, cultural studies, humanities, and translation is essential, as is evidence of successful grant capture or well-developed grant proposals ready for incubation. Responsibilities: Teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses, both within and beyond the Academy’s programmes; Conducting and publishing impactful research; Supervising undergraduate honours projects and postgraduate dissertations at the master’s and doctoral levels; and Undertaking academic services and administrative duties as appropriate to the level of appointment. Requirements: Should hold a PhD in related fields; Degrees that combine innovative approaches with strong theoretical knowledge are particularly relevant; and Should demonstrate expertise in experimental methods, qualitative analysis, and/or quantitative research methodologies. Notes: For post of Associate Professor/Assistant, the initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of three years. For post of Research Assistant Professor, the initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of one to two years.  Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding.  Appointee at Associate Professor rank may be considered for direct tenure on appointment.
