Working directly with the Head of Procurement you will have a crucial role in managing the procurement process, ensuring cost effective purchasing, managing internal and external relationships, and ensuring adherence to Financial Regulations. You will work within the wider Finance Function, and in partnership with academic, technical and professional services staff, as part of the central procurement function at LJMU. You will lead on procurement projects for goods and services as allocated, being responsible for the preparation and delivery of all stages of the procurement cycle. You will aim at ensuring continuity of supply, delivering value for money, influencing the wider impact of procurement and the sustainability/reduction in scope 3 carbon emissions. You will also manage commercial and legislative risk relating to Procurement. You will be a key contact for individual faculties and departments, responsible for providing procurement advice, guidance and training on LJMU systems (e-procurement, e-tendering and procurement cards). You will hold a degree-level qualification, or equivalent professional experience, along with extensive experience of managing complex tendering processes. Significant experience of internal financial regulations and UK public procurement legislation is also key as well as knowledge and experience of procurement tendering systems, strong problem-solving skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills. Whilst not essential, a CIPS qualification (or working towards CIPS) is desirable. About the role: King’s College London Classics Department is seeking to appoint an Early Career Development Fellow in Classics for a two-year period. Description NYUAD Water Research Center at New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a research scientist to work on the development of membrane desalination to treat water from the Arabian Gulf feed sources and on the design and scale-up of low energy membranes for water purification, under the supervision of Professor Nidal Hilal, Director of the Water Research Center and Global Professor of Engineering. The successful applicant will drive an exciting project on developing functional membrane materials, including nanostructured polymer membranes tailored to microfiltration, ultrafiltration, membrane distillation, nanofiltration and reverse osmosis. The candidate will employ advanced membrane fabrication techniques and characterization tools (SEM, TEM, DSC, TGA, BET, etc.) to establish fabrication-structure-property-performance relationships in novel materials for sustainable desalination and water treatment. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists and engineers, graduate students and undergraduate students. The successful applicant will manage projects and work closely with postdoctoral researchers, build deep technical knowledge and develop transferable solutions.
