This call refers to faculty in the rank of Assistant Professors or Associate Professors who specialize in: Accounting or Finance The position involves a rigorous and analytical examination of accounting and financial principles, including financial reporting, financial accounting, managerial accounting, taxation and accounting information systems, financial management, corporate finance, investment analysis, risk management and governance. It integrates accounting and financial standards, quantitative methods and ethical frameworks to support informed decision‑making, transparency and sustainable value creation in contemporary organizational and financial environments. Duties and Responsibilities: Faculty at the University of Nicosia are responsible for delivering high-quality, coordinated teaching and following university academic procedures. They must prepare course outlines that match approved syllabi, work with academic leaders on textbook selection, and use a range of assessment methods to monitor and support student progress. They are also expected to protect exam materials, invigilate exams, follow final examination regulations, keep accurate grade and attendance records, report excessive absences, retain assessed work as required, and submit an end-of-semester online portfolio. In addition to teaching, faculty are expected to support students through advising hours, discussions of exam results, progress evaluation, and recommendation letters. They must also contribute to university life by attending meetings and participating in professional development. Professional conduct is a key expectation, including appropriate appearance, fair and unbiased treatment of students, avoiding political influence in teaching or assessment, and not participating in illegal organizations. Qualifications: A Doctorate Evidence of potential for excellence in teaching, research, publications in international outlets and for a successful academic career. Ability to teach in Greek and/or English Experience: Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in the Higher Education sector. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on an industry innovation research project where you will be part of the research team to design, develop and evaluate schemes for quantum key distribution networks and systems. Key Responsibilities: Participate in the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Design, develop and evaluate solutions given problem statements in key generation and relaying across multiple hops in quantum key distribution (QKD) networks. Demonstrate functionality of solutions. Document and publish the project works. Job Requirements: Have relevant knowledge in the areas of quantum key distribution (QKD) protocols, e.g., BB84, E91, MDI, TF, etc. If there is no prior experience, it is acceptable if the candidate can self-learn the knowledge within a short time (e.g., 1 month). Have a degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or equivalent. Possessing a Master’s or PhD degree will be advantageous. Experience in designing, developing and evaluating solutions for a given problem statement using simulation tools, such as Matlab, Python, etc., and documenting and publishing the works in technical reports or papers. Knowledge of network placement optimization for various topologies, e.g., Erdos-Renyi random network, scale-free, small world, etc, will be advantageous. key Competencies: Understand existing quantum key distribution (QKD) protocols, networks and systems. Able to perform resource placement optimization in computer/communication networks. Proficient in technical writing and analytical skills. Show strong initiative and take ownership of work.
