The Learning Futures Lab sits at the intersection of technology, pedagogy, academic development and student success, with a clear mandate to translate expertise into practical support for Schools and measurable improvements in teaching, learning, assessment, digital capability and student outcomes. The Lab brings together a strong community of experts across digital education, learning design and multimedia, staff educational development, student learning development, operations and projects. The next Director will need to harness that expertise and ensure it is translated into practical support, stronger engagement with Schools and measurable institutional impact. The Director will take forward the evolution from LEaD, Learning Enhancement and Development, to the Learning Futures Lab, giving that change real meaning across the University. This will involve building on the strengths of the existing team while bringing a fresh perspective on how the Lab can support colleagues, shape practice and help City St George’s respond to the pace of change in learning and teaching. The successful candidate will bring strategic nous, pragmatism and a strong implementation mindset. They will understand how to lead expert teams, build trust with academic colleagues and turn educational ambition into delivery. They will be able to support the University’s education strategy, improve the way the Lab works with the wider institution and help ensure that expertise is reflected in outcomes, including student experience, teaching quality and external measures of performance. We are seeking an engaged and community-minded Youth Committee Member to support the Research Ireland–funded RENEW project. This is a part-time role, 0.4FTE, with stakeholder events and outreach activities that may occur outside of the standard working hours. This role is designed for an individual with a strong interest in youth engagement, inclusive design, and environmentally focused solutions. The successful candidate will contribute to ensuring that youth perspectives are represented in the project’s activities and outputs. They will occasionally assist with stakeholder engagement events, outreach initiatives, and the co-creation of ideas that reflect the needs and priorities of young people. The Vietnamese-German University (VGU) is seeking a highly qualified full-time lecturer in IC Design and Computer Architecture. Candidates must hold a PhD in this field or a closely related field with a strong research background. Relevant international experience is an advantage. The successful candidate will become part of an international network of universities and research institutes. Teaching Responsibilities In the role of a lecturer, the successful candidate will teach graduate courses in MCS and undergraduate courses in the CSE bachelor program. The expected workload for the in-class lecture conduct is 08 academic hours per week, totaling 240 academic hours per year (1 academic hour equals to 45 minutes). Teaching should reflect current research methods and results, and comprises lectures on the following modules: Computer Architecture Hardware Description Languages & Verification VLSI Design Digital System Design Fundamental courses in related areas The named courses are subject to change upon realistic needs of the programs and joint agreement between the lecturer, relevant Academic Coordinators, and Dean/Vice Dean in charge of teaching. Courses may requires conducting relevant laboratory activities and/or advising student projects. The holder of this job is also responsible for supervising bachelor’s and master’s theses and mentoring PhD students. Research Responsibilities We expect the successful candidate, as a faculty member of a research-oriented university, to significantly contribute to the scientific profile of VGU through innovation. This includes and is not limited to comprehensive activities in basic research as well as applied research in the fields of computer-aided design of ICs & systems, verification, simulation, system on chip and AI in IC design. The ability to apply and generate externally funded research projects is highly desirable. Administrative responsibilities The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the development of the Computer Science Program by participating in administrative, marketing and other public activities of the program in consultation with the Academic Coordinator of the study program and the German partner university, namely Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences. She or he is also expected to contribute actively to the academic self-administration of the Faculty of Engineering and university by being willing to stand for election to the Faculty Council, Academic Senate and/or other bodies. Qualification Candidates must hold a PhD in Computer Engineering or a closely related field, preferably from a well-known international university. A current title of Professor will be a plus, as will experience and understanding of the German higher education system and methodology. Other requirements include: An outstanding academic record with a focus on IC design and system on chip or other areas closely related to it Proven expertise in design for testability, verification techniques, gate array, design partitioning and SoC integration of components Strong track record of successful research activities and publications in international and peer-reviewed journals in the related area Proven teaching experience with strong self-motivation combined with a passion for teaching and research Experience in industry is an advantage Proven excellent English proficiency: Candidates who are from non-native English-speaking countries should include one of the following valid English proficiency certificates; IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 548(PBT), TOEFL 84 (iBT), TOEFL 212 (CBT), CEFR level B2 or Aptis level C1 at the time of application submission.
