About the School of Medicine (Part of the Health, Sport and Bioscience – HSB) The University is currently applying through the General Medical Council to open a medical programme in Autumn 2027. The addition of an MBBS programme to our health portfolio will enhance our overall health education provision at the University and augment the existing programmes through opportunities for inter-professional learning across the health-related programmes. This will prepare our students for diverse and dynamic NHS healthcare teams with an understanding of shared roles and multidisciplinary, community-based teams to address health inequalities through measures such as social prescribing and integrated care pathways. We are developing an innovative curriculum, with an Access year, better suited to our local demographic and including a dynamic approach to clinical placements that will include simulation and innovative technologies. We aim to produce adaptable, collaborative, and forward-thinking healthcare professionals who are equipped to transform the health of the local communities and beyond. About the Job UEL School of Medicine is looking for a Medical Education Fellow (Curriculum Development) to help design an innovative, community-focused MBBS programme launching in 2027. This role offers the opportunity to shape a new curriculum from the outset, working with simulation and technology-enhanced learning, and contributing to a programme designed to widen participation and address local health needs. The postholder will work closely with the Medical Education and Curriculum teams to develop teaching materials, support innovative approaches to learning and assessment, and contribute to a curriculum designed to serve a diverse student population and address local health inequalities. There will also be opportunities to gain broader experience across assessment, admissions, placements, and programme evaluation. Based at UEL’s Stratford Health Campus, the role offers access to state-of-the-art simulation facilities and interprofessional learning environments. The Fellow will be supported to complete a PG Cert in Clinical Education (Advance HE accredited) and to engage in scholarship and professional development in medical education. This post is offered at 0.4–0.8 FTE, fixed-term for 12 months, with an August 2026 start, and includes hybrid working. About You The ideal candidate would have: Primary medical qualification (MBBS/MBChB or equivalent) with GMC registration and licence to practice. We are seeking a pro-active, self-motivated and highly organised team player to provide research project administrative support and assistance with research tasks to a friendly team at the University of Surrey. The successful applicant will support the project manager in ensuring the smooth running of the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) funded project that is investigating the use of new and additional professional roles in primary care in the National Health Service. The person appointed will also support research team members, when required, with gathering, organising and analysing data. One of the key aims of the project is to improve understanding of how introducing new professional roles into primary care can improve patient care and outcomes. The successful applicant will be based in the Surrey Health Economics Centre at the University of Surrey and will liaise with researchers at the University of West of England who are co-investigators in the project. The position will also require working in partnership with NHS managers, administrators, clinicians, patients and other key stakeholders with an interest in the primary care workforce.  The successful applicant will be responsible for the efficient running of key administrative elements of this project, with strong supervision and support from an experienced wider research team, including the project manager and principal investigator. Providing some research assistant support to the quantitative and qualitative aspects of the project is also part of the role. The person appointed will be part of a vibrant community at the University of Surrey situated in the town of Guildford, which offers cultural sites, modern attractions and access to scenic countryside and London.  About you The successful applicant will require a flexible and proactive approach to work with excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently within a face-to-face and remote team culture. The person appointed will have a good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel spreadsheets and reference manager databases (desirable) as well as prior experience working with data including data entry, organisation of large data sets and assisting with statistical analysis. The person will demonstrate confidentiality, excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills and the ability to work on their own initiative. Organisation, planning and attention to detail are key requirements for this position. Previous experience in a research environment and an understanding of NHS structures and functions are essential. Job Description ACADEMY OF MUSIC  The Academy of Music launched a new multi-year transformational education project to provide access to the larger community in Hong Kong. The scope of the project covers a wide range of opportunities for the under-privileged, gifted students, parents' engagement, community music, industry-higher education collaboration, and curriculum development such as the use of EdTech, art-tech, interdisciplinary learning, cross-cultural studies, and performance and pedagogical research. A key component of the project includes a new 5-6 year music programme that includes an in-school/after-school instrumental ensemble-based music training for primary school students. Post-Doctoral Research Fellow / Research Fellow (25260202) Responsibilities: Contribute to the design of an evidence-based outcome measurement framework for the project; Conduct comprehensive impact measurement research on the project with both qualitative and quantitative methods; Strengthen and refine key outcome indicators on time; Stay informed about relevant social and educational developments, including government policies and similar projects, to assess their impact on the project; Assist in writing detailed reports and produce articles for internationally refereed journals or other respected publications; and Perform any other delegated duties as required.  Requirements: A recognised doctoral degree with substantial experience in educational research, action research, research methodologies, and data collection and analysis of both qualitative and quantitative research; A strong background in statistics, data analysis, research measurement tools, and educational research methods is desired;  Prior experience in working with children and knowledge in music and sports would be advantageous;  Excellent written and oral communication skills in English;  Ability to work independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team; Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing project needs; and A results-oriented approach to impact measurement while remaining open-minded to different stakeholder perspectives for project review and improvement. The initial appointment will be offered on a contract of one year. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement.
