We are looking for a Lecturer in Medical Education to join the School on a part-time basis (0.7 FTE) at this exciting time. The role The successful candidate will focus on delivering high-quality teaching throughout our medical undergraduate curriculum: this will include biomedical science, physiology and general medicine, and specialities. The first year of the course is structured in themes, based around clinical cases, which enables medical students to learn clinically relevant biomedical science, as the foundation to the subsequent years clinical rotations. Subsequent years are based around clinical rotations in specialised themes, with university base days to ensure core content, clinical skills and professionalism learning outcomes are achieved You will support students in small and large group teaching (including case-based learning), contributing to clinical and communication skills sessions, simulation-based teaching, and eventually also teaching students in other years of the course. We would also expect you to contribute to our admissions process, to standard setting, to writing knowledge tests and OSCEs, and to supporting OSCE examining. Please note that this role will be offered at either Lecturer A or B level depending on your experience (see job profile below for further details). The full-time equivalent salary range for Lecturer A starts at £37,694 and Lecturer B starts at £47,389 (pro rata for 0.7 FTE). About you To join our new School, you’ll need to be a forward-looking, collaborative and adaptable individual with a ‘can do’ attitude and the ambition to drive innovation in medical education. You’ll have full registration with the GMC, a higher professional qualification (usually a doctoral degree or equivalent), and may hold a Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy or Academy of Medical Educators. In addition to these qualifications, you’ll have experience of providing high quality teaching and will have good knowledge of medical education principles and practices (including course accreditation, quality assurance processes, and knowledge of the professional requirements of the GMC). Finally, as an excellent communicator, you’ll have the ability to use tact, diplomacy, and empathy to build effective working relationships at all levels. We are recruiting a half-time Research Assistant for Dr. Jeremy Land’s University of Helsinki Rector-funded Project "QuILT: Quantifying Illicit and Licit Trade in the Early Modern Economy " at the University of Helsinki. This project runs until the end of 2026, and the assistantship will last for 10 months. The project seeks to create datasets tracking trade going to and from Stockholm and Amsterdam from 1750-1775. The research assistant will help to build these datasets using sources already collected by the PI and postdoc in the project. We invite applications for a Research Assistant for a 10-month employment contract 15.2.2026-15.12.2026 (or starting as agreed). The selected candidate must be an enrolled bachelor or master student at University of Helsinki. The tasks include: Data entry Various research support tasks for the team members (e.g. proofreading, editing references, and bibliographies) Assisting in identifying additional data for the project. Working hours are flexible and paid by hour. The work is part-time, from 0 to 40 hours per month. The number of weekly hours as well as working hours can be negotiated, so it is possible to combine summer work or traineeships to the position, for example. Description The Center for Interdisciplinary Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (CIDSAI) at NYU Abu Dhabi seeks to recruit a highly motivated researcher to work on topics in the theoretical foundations of data science and AI. The selected candidate will be part of the Foundations Cluster of CIDSAI and will collaborate closely with Professor Saurabh Ray, Professor Keith Ross, and Professor Pierre Youssef. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong mathematical background and expertise in one or more of the following areas: High-dimensional probability and concentration/functional inequalities Markov processes and stochastic analysis Theoretical analysis of neural networks and deep learning Foundations of reinforcement learning and bandit algorithms Mathematical and algorithmic perspectives on large language models Statistical learning theory and complexity analysis Automated theorem proving and formal methods Random matrix theory and its applications in modern AI systems This position can be filled at either the Postdoctoral Associate level, depending on qualifications.
