Job Description COLLEGE OF INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION Established in 2000, the College of International Education (CIE) is a self-funded unit of the Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), offering full-time Associate Degree (AD), Higher Diploma (HD) and Undergraduate (UG) Honours Degree Programmes at the Shek Mun (Shatin) campus. It is a major education providing unit of the School of Continuing Education (SCE), one of the Faculties/Schools of HKBU. CIE currently enrolls over 3,500 students and is committed to the University’s mission of providing quality whole-person higher education with a Christian heritage. English is used as the medium of instruction at the College. Applications are now invited for the following position: Lecturer I / Lecturer II in Psychology (25260714) Responsibilities: The appointee will be responsible for teaching a diverse range of subjects within the field of psychology and related areas offered by our Sub-degree and Undergraduate programs. Subject areas to be taught include but are not limited to research methods, social psychology, personality psychology, industrial and organizational psychology, consumer psychology, sport psychology, history of psychology, cultural psychology, counseling psychology, and educational psychology. Responsibilities include supervising internship and honors projects, imparting skills and professional knowledge related to these areas, providing academic guidance to students, organizing and coordinating experiential learning activities, and assisting in the ongoing review and design of courses and programs. Applicants should maintain strong connections with relevant industries and professional organizations.  Requirements: Applicants should possess a higher degree, preferably at the doctoral level, in a relevant discipline, along with teaching experience. A master's degree may also be considered. Candidates must demonstrate dedication and commitment to teaching and education; meanwhile, research competence is a factor to be considered. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team are essential.  Candidates with less experience will be considered for the post of Lecturer II. Reference salary range:  Lecturer I : HK$51,000 - HK$86,000 Lecturer II : HK$38,000 - HK$53,000 The appointee will work on Shek Mun (Shatin) campus.  The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract ending in August 2027. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Delivered through a co-teaching model, the program focuses on strengthening students' vocational literacy, numeracy, digital and learning skills within the context of their vocational studies. Literacy and Numeracy Specialists work collaboratively with vocational teachers to support classroom delivery, develop contextualised learning resources and strategies, and contribute to inclusive teaching practices that enhance student engagement, participation and success across CoVE's priority programs. About You You are an enthusiastic and highly capable literacy and/or numeracy specialist with a passion for supporting learners to build confidence and strengthen their foundation skills. With strong experience and background in literacy and/or numeracy education, you bring the ability to deliver engaging, student-centred learning that supports diverse learner needs across vocational and educational settings. You are recognised for your expertise in literacy, numeracy and digital literacy, and your ability to translate complex concepts into practical, accessible learning experiences. Whether your background comes from secondary school teaching, vocational education, or workplace training, you are committed to helping students strengthen their work-readiness skills, improve learning outcomes, and achieve success in their studies and future careers.
