Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology is a specialist, fee-paying university in Haryana, northern India.

Founded in 1995, the university is named after Guru Jambheshwar Ji Maharaj, a 15th century Hindu saint celebrated for his environmental teachings.

The university campus is large – based on a 372-acre site on the outside of Hisar city. Student numbers, meanwhile, are relatively small, with around 4,500 undergraduate and graduates enrolled on courses.

Subjects taught at the university span eight core departments including engineering and technology, medical sciences, environmental and biosciences among others. Science and technology are the biggest fields taught at the institution, but the institution also offers courses in media studies, humanities and religion.

The university also prides itself on its strong reputation for research. Staff and graduate students have access to government grant funding and state-of-the-art scientific laboratories.

Approximately 200 acres of the campus has been developed to provide eight core teaching blocks and 149 employee residences. The campus boasts good facilities, including its own bank branch, a post office and a police station. Students can also make use of a 40-acre sports complex, which includes cricket pitches, badminton and tennis courts, a volleyball court and archery centre.

A large on-site library houses around 100,000 books and academic journals; students and staff are also able to access several thousands e-journals through the university’s online library resource.

Hostel-style accommodation is available for up to 2,150 students on campus, with separate blocks for men and women. The university is well connected to public transport and motorways and is 1km from Hisar Airport.

Clinical Research Fellow in the Department of Psychological Medicine

About us The School of Academic Psychiatry brings together five leading clinical departments Addictions, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Forensic and Neurodevelopmental Science, Psychological Medicine, and Psychosis Studies. Our community includes more than 100 Principal Investigators and a vibrant research portfolio supported by £30–40 million in active grants. Across the School, our work spans the full breadth of psychiatry—from public policy to molecular genetics, from perinatal mental health to old age, and from psychological therapies to advanced brain imaging. This role will be based in the Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing (CHBA), Department of Psychological Medicine. The Centre aims to advance the development of biomarkers for neurocognitive disorders and to create innovative approaches for the early diagnosis of cognitive decline, Alzheimer’s disease, and ageing-related psychiatric conditions. As a centre of excellence for clinical trials, we support the development of novel therapeutic strategies and technologies while improving patient access to both established and emerging treatments.  About the role The Clinical Research Fellow will play a key role in the delivery of high-quality clinical research within the Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing. Working as an integral member of a multidisciplinary team, the postholder will support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of clinical studies while ensuring strict adherence to trial protocols, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements. A core component of the role will be to work with retrospective data from participants living with dementia and prospectively collected data from ongoing participants for research and analysis purposes, with research supported by the Michael J. Fox Foundation. The successful candidate will also be contributing weekly to the Brain Health Clinic at SLaM under the supervision of Prof Dag Aarsland, providing compassionate and clinically sound support to participants, many of whom have memory difficulties or dementia. The Fellow will conduct cognitive and study-specific assessments, maintain accurate participant records, and ensure timely collection and processing of biological samples in line with SOPs and GCP. The role requires excellent communication skills, with responsibility for maintaining effective relationships with participants, families, clinicians, researchers, and external partners. The Clinical Research Fellow will contribute to data entry, cleaning, analysis, and the preparation of reports and research outputs, as well as participating in clinical and research supervision. This position offers opportunities for professional development, active engagement in service improvement, and involvement in the dissemination of research through presentations, publications, and collaboration across academic and NHS teams. This is a full-time post (40 hours per week). The post will be offered on a fixed term contract until 31st January 2027. The Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences is seeking to appoint a motivated individual to join the Medical Programme Professional Service Team. The post holder will work closely with the Senior Administrative Officer and Medical Programme Manager to support them in delivering assessment and progression processes and for the School of Medicine’s Graduate Medicine programme. The role This role will focus on managing and implementing processes in relation to all aspects of student assessment and ensuring accurate records and data are managed and in line with University and GMC regulations. The postholder is expected to build a knowledge of the systems and processes involved in order to meet expectations for recording and tracking student progress. About you The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate strong technical and IT skills with a focus on reporting data and supporting the development of bespoke systems aimed at monitoring and recording student data. They should be a proactive individual, competent in the use of IT with an attitude open to change and working independently. The ability to work to a high level of accuracy is also essential. The role will require excellent interpersonal and organisational ability demonstrating adaptability and flexibility with regards to changing workloads and priorities. The role will involve working with a range of staff across the School of Medicine and wider university and to adapt and support a number of professional administrative activities involved in the BMBS Graduate Medicine programme. We are looking for a flexible, enthusiastic and responsible person, with the ability to work both as an effective team member and independently.
