The Gulistan State Pedagogical Institute was established in 2022 as the teacher-training and education arm of the more established Gulistan State University. The aim of the new institute is to train high-quality Uzbek teachers, using the latest educational technology.
The institute is located in a province that borders Kazakhstan, and education is conducted in Uzbek, Russian, Kazakh and English. Some departments, such as preschool education, also teach in Tajik.
The institute undergraduate and master’s degrees are offered across five departments: exact and natural sciences; pedagogy; Uzbek language and language teaching; social sciences and arts; and theory and methodology of physical culture.
Lecture halls and classrooms are equipped with up-to-date projectors, as well as video and audio systems. An institute hostel accommodates around 400 students; others rent apartments near the institute.

Doctoral Researchers in Molecular Medicine As part of the Nordic EMBL Partnership for Molecular Medicine, the Institute for Molecular Medicine Finland (FIMM) is recruiting 4–5 doctoral researchers in the FIMM-EMBL International PhD Programme, starting in August 2026. In this interdisciplinary programme, outstanding doctoral researchers are recruited at the institute level in the scope of the main research areas at FIMM. Through the FIMM-EMBL rotation system, doctoral researchers engage in projects with 2–3 different research groups at FIMM during a 6–9-month period before selecting a research group for their doctoral research. About us The role is located within the Addictions Department, Institute of Psychiatry Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN) at Kings’ College London (KCL). The Addictions Department has connections across the IoPPN and across clinical practice within the South London & Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and its extensive addiction treatment services and wider mental healthcare provision with additional connections with King's College Hospital and Guy's and St Thomas's through the Kings Health Partners Academic Health Science Centre. About the role The role is as a part time research fellow working within the the STADi-HuM study team: STADi-HuM: The interrelationship between receipt of Specialist Treatment for problematic Alcohol or Drug use, Hospitalisation and Mortality in England: A national record linkage and clinical study. The post holder will hold a doctoral degree or equivalent in an addiction related topic and need to have expertise in working with data from the National Drug Treatment Monitoring System (NDTMS), working with government and expertise in quantitative prediction modelling techniques. The post holder will be responsible for multiple study components. These include contribution to systematic reviewing of the existing literature, development of patient and public involvement and engagement pathways, qualitative interviewing and liaison with the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) Office of Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID). The post holder will work closely with clinical colleagues in the South London and the Maudsley NHS Foundation trust to strengthen links between clinical practice and research. The post holder will have the opportunity to undertake bespoke methodological training courses and attend international conferences alongside opportunities to publish peer-reviewed articles, contribute to the teaching and learning programmes in the department, and gain additional development opportunities including supervision of postgraduate research students.
