About the advertised position: As a University Assistant Praedoc, you will contribute to Valentina Ausserladscheider's research area. The research focuses on institutional and organizational change in the economy, markets, and society. The focus is on processes in which political, economic and social actors react to new challenges and change existing institutional orders, market structures and social models. Concrete focal points can be the transformation of economic governance and crises, the role of political and economic elites, discursive negotiation processes, and social, financial, and organizational responses to climate change. Particular attention is paid to the interplay of political developments, economic dynamics and social values. The employee should qualify for a doctorate through his/her research. Your future tasks: You will be actively involved in research, teaching and administration, which means: We expect you to conclude your dissertation agreement within 12-18 months. You are working on your dissertation and its completion. You will hold courses independently to the extent of the provisions of the collective agreement. You will take on administrative tasks in research and teaching. The person appointed will have a proven record of teaching, research and publication, appropriate to career stage. They will be expected to make a strong contribution to the teaching programme of the Department and undertake teaching duties on the Department’s undergraduate programmes. The appointee is expected to be able to coordinate and deliver modules on topics across both practice and theory including: interactive storytelling; digital skills; Film Studies and Media Studies theories and concepts. The appointee will be expected to have an average of two modules per semester and to have responsibilities for coordinating and managing modules, which may include working individually or with a team of tutors/lecturers. Additional duties include: supervision of undergraduate dissertations; management of student administration; participation in departmental administration (Open Days, talks, etc.) as well as Faculty/University service and administration. The Overseas PhD Scholarship aims to attract and encourage outstanding graduates and industry professionals to pursue an academic career at SIT by providing financial support for an overseas PhD, as well as academic guidance and mentorship. The scholarship may be awarded to applicants who have just completed their undergraduate studies; or have completed a Bachelor’s degree or a Master’s programme and/or have worked for some years; or are currently enrolled in a PhD programme overseas Upon successful completion of the PhD programme, the scholar will be considered to join SIT’s faculty as an Assistant Professor. The scholarship is tenable for a period of five years. Service Commitment 5 years in SIT after completion of PhD studies.
