Your personal sphere of influence: We are seeking a Communication Expert to further develop the Vienna Centre for Advanced Studies’ (ViCAS) visibility and impact. In this role, you will be responsible for the strategic planning and implementation of ViCAS’s communication activities in close coordination with the University of Vienna’s Communication Unit. You will develop and implement a communication strategy that aligns with ViCAS’s mission, engage global academic communities, and strengthen connections with stakeholders across the research and public spheres. A key part of the role is ensuring ViCAS's institutional positioning within the University of Vienna’s broader communication landscape. You will shape narratives about our fellowship programmes, the academic work of its fellows, and events suitable to different audiences, enhancing our national and international profile and influence both within and beyond academia. The ideal candidate combines expertise in strategic communication with a passion for science communication and a proven ability to engage diverse audiences. Your future tasks: Independent development, coordination, and implementation of communication strategies and campaigns covering all aspects of ViCAS, involving numerous stakeholders. Translate complex research into engaging content for blogs, press releases, and social media, using state-of-the-art communication practices. Creation and delivery of multimedia content for internal and external communication channels. Content planning and channel management, including the further development of communication channels, incl. managing and regularly updating the content of the Centre’s website. Collaborate closely with the ViCAS fellows to understand their scientific work and ensure its accurate representation. Build and maintain relationships with relevant (digital and legacy) media, coordinating interviews and managing media requests. Event management: Integration of ViCAS events in the communication strategy of the Centre and support of the Academic Coordinator with the organisation and execution of program events, workshops, and meetings. Monitor the effectiveness of communication measures and monitor media trends and public discourse in relevant scientific areas, using insights to refine strategies and enhance impact. Your profile: Required Qualifications and Skills Academic degree in (science) communications, journalism, media studies or other relevant field. 3+ years of experience in (research) communications, public outreach and media relations. Several years of professional experience in event management. Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with a strong awareness of inclusive communication. Strong AI affinity and knowledge of CMS, social media and analytics. Project management experience. Excellent written and spoken English and German, minimum level C1. Team player with a hands-on working approach. Strategic and analytical mindset. Ability to structure tasks and set priorities. Desirable skills and experiences Familiarity with academic research environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of TYPO3 would be an advantage. The School of Biomedical Engineering invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to join an interdisciplinary research program in functional biomaterials and tissue engineering at the University of Sydney. The successful candidate will undertake research at the interface of biomaterials engineering, regenerative medicine, advanced 3D printing and mechanobiology, under the supervision of Professor Hala Zreiqat. This hands-on role offers substantial intellectual freedom and provides an opportunity to lead research in biomimetic and translational tissue engineering. The postdoctoral researcher will contribute to the development of biomimetic gradient scaffold technologies, including electrochemical molecular-lock strategies for constructing multi-scale gradient interfaces, soft tissue regeneration using established in vivo models for muscle and tendon repair, and the creation of integrated bone-tendon-muscle regeneration systems and advanced regenerative microenvironments. The role also offers opportunities for student supervision, industry engagement, grant development and the initiation of new research directions. Key responsibilities include: conducting high-quality research, independently and collaboratively, to advance bone-tendon-muscle interface regeneration designing and fabricating gradient scaffold technologies and models relevant to aged or diseased tissues characterising biomaterials using advanced imaging, biochemical assays and molecular biology techniques publishing research outcomes in leading international journals preparing competitive grant applications presenting research findings at national and international conferences supervising and mentoring undergraduate and postgraduate students engaging proactively with industry and clinical partners to support translational research complying with and promoting the University's health, safety and ethical standards. The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine invites applications for a position of a Research infrastructure specialist (veterinary pathologist) The position is a fixed term position until 31.12.2028, preferably starting full time in the beginning of May 2026. The Finnish Center for Laboratory Animal Pathology, FCLAP, is a core facility service of the University of Helsinki. This position is technically based at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Veterinary Biosciences, veterinary pathology and parasitology, in Viikki campus Helsinki. FCLAP is a core service providing expertise in veterinary pathology, focusing on laboratory animal pathology, for research groups and external clients. We provide histotechnological services and expertise in morphological methods to assess pathological changes and specific phenotypical features in laboratory/experimental animals. The aim of FCLAP is to provide veterinary pathology expertise for research projects involving animal work and hereby optimize the use of experimental animals in research. FCLAP is one of the HiLIFE research infrastructures and belongs to the Histotechnology and Laboratory Animal Pathology platform. FCLAP provides technical services such as trimming, processing and paraffin embedding of tissue specimens, preparation of unstained paraffin and frozen sections, histochemical staining (HE and a range of special stains), immunohistochemistry (including testing of new antibodies), in-situ hybridization, consultation and tutoring on histological tissue processing. Further we provide pathology services regarding assessment of morphological tissue changes, necropsy and tissue sampling, assistance with experimental design and choice of techniques in pathology. The research infrastructure specialist’s responsibilities include client contact, planning, executing and coordinating projects within the core facility, providing pathology expertise within the projects and financial oversight of the work. The research infrastructure specialist is also involved in training veterinary pathologists. FCLAP works in close connection with the histopathology laboratory, including three technical staff, and the section for veterinary parasitology and pathology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, providing a collegium of around 10 academic colleagues. The research infrastructure specialist is the head of the FCLAP services. The salary is based on the salary system of Finnish universities, scale of an expert and support staff (MV9-10), and the monthly gross salary will be about 3 900–4 700 euros depending on the appointee’s experience and merits.
