The General Sir John Kotelawala Defence Academy was formally opened in 1981 to enable young officers to gain higher academic qualifications. In 1988 the institution was elevated to university status, and now has nine academic faculties offering over 34 undergraduate and postgraduate degrees: defence and strategic studies; medicine; engineering; law; management, social sciences and humanities; allied health sciences; built environment and spatial sciences; and computing. Students of the General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University have access to a range of sports and recreational facilities. Clubs include rotaract, national rover crew, toastmasters, eco club and music clubs. In addition, students are encouraged to undertake industrial visits, industry interaction and regularly scheduled guest speakers. Officer cadets at the university undergo military training alongside their academic studies. Their time at KDU includes weapon training and live firing, knowledge enrichment, team research and outdoor activities.

He/She will assist the Project Leader in overseeing the timeline of deliverables of the project; verify the quality of the data; analyse quantitative and qualitative data and findings; write up research reports; liaise with OECD, Government Representative, schools and project team members; and perform other duties as assigned. About the position This is a critical leadership role within La Trobe’s Integrity Office, focused on strengthening a safe, respectful and accountable university environment. Reporting to the Director, Integrity Office, the Manager, Safer Community and Student Conduct leads the University’s response to complex and sensitive matters involving student conduct, safer community, child safety and behavioural risk. You’ll oversee end-to-end case management and investigations—ensuring matters are handled with care, consistency and procedural fairness—while also providing trusted advice to senior leaders on risk, governance and institutional response. This role has a strong strategic lens, using data and insights to improve policy, systems and practice across the University, while also acting as the University’s Child Safety Officer. Location: Bedford Park / Kaurna Country View Position Description About the Role Providing learning design and project management services in the development of online and blended courses, the Learning Designer enables the Learning and Teaching Innovation Portfolio to support quality in the increasing use of educational technologies across the University, in particular in the delivery of fully online and blended courses. You will contribute to the dissemination of good practice and provide professional development in relation to changes and additions to the suite of educational technologies within Flinders Online Learning, and using your pedagogical knowledge, create and develop innovative learning materials and learning activities. Your technical knowledge will also be required as you collaborate with academic staff to co-design and co-develop innovative learning experiences. Some of the key accountabilities of the role are: Providing learning design expertise to academic staff into different modalities who are developing educational resources including the design of learning activities, assessment strategies, choosing appropriate distribution media, and designing student learning support strategies. Leading the design of high quality fully asynchronous facilitated online learning experiences, ensuring pacing, structure, and learning pathways support student autonomy and sustained engagement. Coordinating a targeted professional development program for academics to allow them to develop their own educational design and development skills and knowledge. Managing projects to support eLearning development within LTI as required, including identifying opportunities, developing briefs, coordinating stakeholder interests, implementation and evaluation of projects. About You Your experience includes sourcing, selecting, applying, and evaluating educational technology tools and platforms for a variety of teaching, learning, assessment and learning support purposes across a variety of contexts.
