About the role The purpose of the role is to deliver a full award management function, including reports on work in progress and project monitoring as required and will report progress to Senior Research Grants Administrator and Research Grants Manager. The role holder will maintain detailed knowledge of funder terms and conditions as well as internal financial procedures and regulations, and will apply these consistently, particularly with regard to financial returns. The consequences of non-compliance with financial regulations are severe and the role holder will be expected to develop and deploy a high level of expertise to manage this level of risk on behalf of the university. Applicants should possess a doctoral degree by research (Ph.D., D.Sc., Dr.P.H. or equivalent) in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health or related disciplines. They should have a strong quantitative background; experience in analysing epidemiological data using R, STATA, SAS or other statistical packages; demonstrated expertise in the analysis of large and complex datasets; excellent written and oral communication skills; and the ability to work independently as well as in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Proficiency in longitudinal analyses, multilevel modelling, data visualisation, and state-of-the-art statistical and epidemiological models would be an advantage. The appointees will be primarily responsible for applied and methodological work in epidemiological and/or statistical research, and will work with a large population-based cohort with over 46,000 participants in 20,000 households. They will conduct power/sample size estimation; generate tables and figures for reports and presentations; write scientific publications, grant proposals and reports; and assist in general administrative, operational and other duties as assigned. The focus of one of the posts will include The World Health Organization World Mental Health Survey Initiative and the Composite International Diagnostic Interview (CIDI), which is one of the largest cross-national mental health studies in the world. Those with relevant post-doctoral work experience and an excellent publication track record may be considered for appointment as RAP, and the appointee is expected to take up a leading role to oversee the cohort team. The aim of the network is to develop new and trustworthy AI methods for longitudinal neuroimage analysis, helping clinical experts assess temporal changes in patients with chronic brain disorders. The group’s research combines the development of scalable photonic quantum technology for quantum computing and other quantum information applications with the investigation of fundamental quantum science questions. The main activities reach from quantum control of single photons using solid-state photon sources, integrated waveguide technology, tailored nonlinear media and detectors based on superconductor technology to interferometric precision measurements of weak gravitational forces. You will also benefit from being a fellow of the Vienna Doctoral School in Physics (VDSP), being part of a thriving community with more than 100 quantum scientists on the premises, about 300 quantum researchers in Vienna. The Walther Group unites an international team of scientists who are passionate about research in quantum optics, quantum information and quantum technologies. Our 35 young researchers, from undergraduate student, PhD candidate to Postdoc are working together on mostly experimental topics in small subgroups. Teamwork is a key factor to our group’s success.
