The role We are seeking an outstanding assistant to provide high-quality, professional administrative and PA support to the Director of Advancement and the Advancement Leadership Team. Clinical Research Methodology and Education Specialist for the Centre of Excellence CREATIC | CZECRIN (with working hours 32 - 40 per week) The CREATIC Centre of Excellence of the Faculty of Medicine of Masaryk University in Brno was established on 1 January 2024 and focuses on research and development of cell and gene therapy for selected rare diseases. We are currently looking for a colleague to join our center who will contribute to the design, preparation, development, and expert review of courses within a comprehensive educational program focused on clinical research methodology. The program is primarily intended for professionals in clinical research engaged in lifelong learning. Practical experience in clinical research is desirable, particularly for the ability to translate theoretical principles into concrete and understandable examples. Your responsibilities will include identifying the key courses within the program, co-developing their structure, and defining and preparing expert content in collaboration with other colleagues. We are seeking a communicative, systematic, and independent individual with an interest in education within a specialized professional field, who is motivated to actively contribute to the development of a high-quality educational program and to support its long-term advancement. Location: Bedford Park / Kaurna Country View Position Description About Flinders University International Centre for Point-of-Care Testing The Flinders University International Centre for Point-of Care Testing (ICPOCT) is a global leader in point-of-care testing (POCT) and is recognised for expertise in POCT research and teaching, encompassing chronic, acute and infectious diseases. The Centre’s research activities have made a significant contribution to increasing access to health care and improving health outcomes, particularly in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and in rural and remote settings nationally and internationally. About the Role The Scientific Officer plays a key role in supporting the delivery of infectious disease point‑of‑care testing programs, with a strong focus on the National Australian Hepatitis C POCT Program. Working across a diverse range of health settings—including regional and remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, Drug and Alcohol services, and Justice Health services—the role delivers training, quality management support, and hands‑on testing services. This position contributes to program logistics, scientific troubleshooting, data management and research coordination, ensuring high‑quality, accessible testing that supports improved health outcomes nationally. Delivering point-of-care operator training, competency assessment and quality‑assured POCT support to health workers across multiple service settings. Coordinating and supporting onsite high intensity testing campaigns, including capillary blood collection and HCV point‑of‑care testing in correctional services. Providing scientific and technical support for POCT devices, systems and software both remotely and onsite. Supporting program data management, research activities and preparation of program-related publications and resources. About You You are an adaptable and skilled medical scientist or scientific professional who brings hands‑on experience in point‑of‑care testing, blood collection, and data‑driven research. Your ability to train, support and engage health workers—often in diverse and remote settings—ensures the delivery of safe, accurate and meaningful patient outcomes. A relevant degree paired with experience in capillary blood collection and performing diagnostic point‑of‑care testing. Research Technician

A Research Technician position is available in the Centre for Cancer Immunology at Southampton General Hospital. This is a newly constructed, dedicated research building that is the result of a significant fund-raising campaign. It builds on a 40 year history of pioneering immunology and cancer research at Southampton, and represents the first dedicated cancer immunology centre in the UK. The activities in this centre span from pioneering discovery science to applied research and preclinical modelling and, crucially, onto first-in-human clinical trials and beyond. The centre houses world-class research facilities, including state-of-the-art scientific laboratories and a clinical trials unit. The position is associated with the laboratory of Professors Ward and Ober. Their interdisciplinary research program is dedicated to the development of novel antibody-based therapeutics for the treatment of cancer and autoimmunity. This research has led to several therapeutics that are currently in advanced clinical trials or approved for clinical use. The group also develops advanced microscopy techniques for the evaluation of novel therapeutics in cellular environments. Their research is supported by major grants from the Welcome Trust, Cancer Research UK and support from collaborating biopharma companies. The appointee will be highly motivated and excited by the challenges involved in supporting a dynamic, interdisciplinary group of researchers. The appointee’s role will be to provide support with the day-to-day running of the laboratory by providing technical support for the experimental work of post-doctoral fellows, research scientists and graduate students, combined with the ordering and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation and supplies. The position holder will be expected to be familiar with biosafety and other regulatory processes and follow these procedures as necessary. It is essential to have a skill level equivalent to achievement of HNC, A-Level, NVQ3 with proven work experience acquired in relevant technical support roles and job-related training. The role requires the ability to plan and organise your workload, work well under pressure and communicate effectively and professionally with other laboratory members. A scientific knowledge in a biological field equivalent to B.Sc. level is extremely desirable. The post-holder will possess relevant academic qualifications and work experience as well as good IT skills. The position is for one year.
