The department closely cooperates with the Department of Psychiatry, the Department of Neurosurgery, the Department of Clinical Psychology, and the Department of Rehabilitation. In terms of treatment and prevention, it provides both primary general neurological care within its catchment area (including consultation services for all inpatient facilities of the Brno University Hospital) and highly specialized consultative care at the regional level. In addition to the intensive care unit, it also operates specialized intensive beds within the Stroke Unit, which is an integral part of the Highly Specialized Comprehensive Cerebrovascular Care Center of University Hospital Brno. Beyond its cerebrovascular program, the Department of Neurology focuses on research in neuromuscular disorders, multiple sclerosis, sleep medicine, and spinal disorders. The Department Head position candidate must be a respected expert in the field of neurology, with experience of working in a given area and with expertise in pre-graduate and postgraduate education. The Head of the department will be responsible for the management of the clinic, undergraduate medical education, doctoral studies, publishing and coordination of research conducted at the clinic. The Candidate for Department Head will present his/her idea of fulfilling the above during the selection process. Requirements for a declared position: University education in general medicine or equivalent education acquired abroad; Eligibility to pursue the profession of physician in the relevant field in accordance with Section 5 of Act No. 95/2004 Coll.; Academic degree PhD or scientific rank of CSc; Habilitation within the meaning of Act No. 111/1998 Coll., on Higher Education, the scientific-pedagogical title of professor is an advantage; Personal and professional requirements for managing the medical and academic team of the clinic; Teaching experience and readiness to guarantee vocational subjects taught at the workplace; Scientific and publishing activities in the given field; Active knowledge of the Czech language; Moral integrity; Fulfilment of prerequisites according to Act No. 451/1991 Coll. (the Lustration Act); does not have to document persons born after 1 December 1971 and applicants from abroad. About You: You are a senior professional with extensive experience managing research or teaching facilities, ideally within a university or research environment. You are a strategic thinker with a proven ability to develop and implement operational plans, lead teams, and deliver outstanding service. You will demonstrate: Proven leadership in facility management, team development, change management and stakeholder engagement. Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, cost recovery, and revenue generation. Knowledge of compliance, safety, and quality standards for scientific facilities (e.g., WHS, PC2, accreditation). Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation. The ability to analyse data, produce quality reports and presentations, and review technical agreements and contracts. The role will include working early morning, late evenings and weekends on a rota basis.  About you The successful candidate will have previous experience in a supervisory role in which they handled staff effectively to achieve results. Understanding the importance of Health and Safety in the leisure industry is essential and the candidate should have the ability to deliver a high-quality service with minimum supervision. The post-holder will also be adaptable & flexible and will have the ability to deal with customers and their queries and concerns with tact, diplomacy and kindness. Knowledge of integrated management systems and experience of computerised leisure management systems are essential. A First Aid Certificate and National Pool Lifeguard Qualification or equivalent are desirable. An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role. What’s in it for you?
