Egerton University is the oldest university in Kenya having been in 1939. It was founded as Egerton Farm College.
It became part of the University of Kenya in 1986 and a university in its own right in 1987.
The university is based across four campuses in Njoro, 70 miles from Kenya’s capital, Nairobi. The main Njoro campus hosts the faculties of agriculture, arts and social sciences, education and community studies, engineering and technology, environment and resources and science and veterinary medicine.
The nearby Kenyatta campus has the Centre for Capacity Building and is planned to accommodate the school of Open and Distance Learning.
Nakuru Campus hosts law, commerce and health sciences while courses in commerce and arts and sciences are taught at the Nairobi campus. The university runs distance courses in collaboration with Africa Virtual University.

The aim of the network is to develop new and trustworthy AI methods for longitudinal neuroimage analysis, helping clinical experts assess temporal changes in patients with chronic brain disorders. QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCES Essential Criteria PhD in Operations and Supply Chain Management or a closely related field (must be completed by the time of appointment; final-year PhD candidates will be considered if all requirements are met by July 2026). Evidence of high-quality research outputs (Associate Professor) or strong research potential (Assistant Professor), evidenced by existing publications or a promising pipeline in reputable peer-reviewed journals (e.g. ABS3/4 or equivalent). Strong commitment to high-quality teaching and student engagement at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Potential (Assistant Professor) or proven record (Associate Professor) in supervising Undergraduate, Master and/or PhD dissertations. Motivation to (Assistant Professor) and evidence of (Associate Professor) attracting external governmental and/or industry-sponsored research funding. International teaching, research, or professional experience. Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills in a diverse and interdisciplinary environment. Recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCert) or willingness to obtain one. Fos Associate Professor, experience in delivering executive education or industry-oriented training. Desirable Criteria Experience in securing national research funding (e.g. China NSFC and UK ESRC/EPSRC) Leadership experience on academic service roles. Research that complements or extends the Department’s existing strengths. Strong industry connections or applied research experience. Experience with innovative pedagogy, digital learning tools, or experiential teaching.
