The Ecole Normale Supérieure El Katiba Assia Djebar Constantine, or ENSC, was established in 1981, and has gained a strong reputation for its commitment to quality training and professionalism among its teachers.

The primary mission of ENSC is to train future teachers, foster pedagogical development and engage in scientific research. Over the years, the school has undergone significant changes, expanding its capacity, and now admits approximately 1,500 new university students each year from 24 different states in Eastern and Southern Algeria.

ENSC trains teachers for the Ministry of National Education (MEN) in various fields, including mathematics, computer science, physics and chemistry, natural sciences, Arabic literature and language, French, English, philosophy and history-geography. The training programmes are divided into three levels: Secondary Education Teachers "PES," Teachers of Middle Education "PEM," and Teachers of Primary Education "PEP."

The university has also expanded into other areas, such as distance learning, post-graduation programmes and research initiatives on a national and international scale. External relations are a key strategic priority for the school, leading to collaborations with national and international schools and universities. Regular seminars and conferences enrich teaching and training activities and encourage collaborative research projects.

One of the strengths of ENSC is in the diverse social and cultural backgrounds of its students, which contributes to a rich and positive learning environment. The teaching staff is equally diverse, boasting a wide range of specialties, research interests and professional experiences.

We have an exciting opportunity at the University of Southampton for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to work within a highly skilled team, we have our own workshop to carry out on-site repairs, including milling, turning, and welding. We work across a range of mechanical plant including HVAC, BMS, Boilers, Chillers, Cooling Towers, Ancillary Systems, and our own CHP District Networks.  We are a research university with a variety of different properties ranging from specialist laboratories and clean rooms, world-renowned cutting-edge research facilities, sports and catering outlets, halls of residence accommodation and office spaces. This spans over a vast estate, this role will play a vital part in supporting the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance of Mechanical systems across the University, to keep our estate operational. You will have excellent technical and communication skills, with the ability to plan and manage your own workload. You will need to be positive with a can do attitude and proactive problem solver to be able to manage a mixture of planned and reactive maintenance to ensure that work is delivered on time and to a high standard. You will be able to work in a team environment. The successful candidate will hold a City and Guilds qualification and/or minimum NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical engineering or equivalent discipline and have successfully completed a Mechanical apprenticeship or similar training programme. You will be familiar with Health & Safety legislation and understand risk assessments, method statements, and how to apply these to planned and reactive maintenance. You will have experience of maintenance in a commercial or similar environment. A full driving license and participation in an out of hours call out rota are required. Ref.: 533921 Work type: Full-time Department: School of Public Health (22400) Categories: Senior Research Staff & Post-doctoral Fellow Applications are invited for appointment as Scientific Officer (several posts) in the Hong Kong Jockey Club Global Health Institute (HKJCGHI), School of Public Health (Ref no.: 533921), to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary or two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance. HKU has partnered with International Vaccine Institute (IVI) and The University of Cambridge to establish the HKJCGHI, funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. IVI is a non-profit international organization dedicated to vaccines and vaccination for global health. The Science Unit of IVI coordinates the Vaccine Process Development workstream and contributes to others workstreams of the HKJCGHI, including capacity building. These areas of work are in sync with HKJCGHI activities of the Science Unit in Seoul. Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or a related field, with at least 10 years of relevant experience in developing and managing process development laboratories or related manufacturing operations, particularly for vaccines targeting infectious diseases. Applicants should demonstrate good knowledge and relevant research experience in field of vaccine development/production of biomolecules using cell-culture platforms (e.g. viral vaccines), and possibly bacterial- and mRNA-based vaccines including their biology, design of molecules, immunology, microbiology and molecular biology; and knowledge in developing assays for product characterization. Preference will be given to those with experience in cultivation and carrying out purification of enveloped and non-enveloped viruses in vaccine development industry, especially in GLP or GMP facility. Experience in handling quantitative and/or qualitative assays for vaccine development research would be distinct advantages. They should have excellent written and spoken English skills along with good communication skills, a keen sense of responsibility, good organizational skills, and the ability to work independently as well as in a team. Preference will be given to candidates with prior work experience in vaccine/biopharmaceutical industry, or low- and middle-income country (LMIC) settings. The appointees will contribute to research activities on infectious diseases and vaccines under the HKJCGHI. Key responsibilities include developing and managing the process development laboratory at HKJCGHI, including GLP compliant lab areas, and the research projects at GHI; leading, supporting and co-ordinating the process development of vaccine candidates; supervising technology transfer of vaccine candidates developed at GHI-IVI to vaccine manufacturers; and managing staff and sub-departments in the Vaccine Process Development department at HKJCGHI. Additionally, they will contribute to the preparation/review of research reports, manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals, and presentations for scientific meetings. The role also involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders – including researchers, public health agencies, and policy-makers – supporting capacity-building activities and knowledge translation efforts in LMICs. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Description The Research Center on Stability, Instability and Turbulence (SITE) a center of the Research Institute, New York University Abu Dhabi, seeks to recruit a Post-Doctoral Associate to work in the fluid mechanics laboratory for experimental fluid dynamics.  SITE is inviting applications for fully-funded postdoctoral research associate positions. SITE is highly interdisciplinary and aims to develop novel enabling technology on hydrodynamic stability analysis that has applications in the study of the development of singularities, the long-time behavior of complex systems, the formation of spatial patterns, the transition between stability and instability, and the first steps of transition towards turbulence that appear in several disciplines across science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and innovation. Candidates must hold (or be close to completing) a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Physics and Applied Physics or a related field.
