An Innovative Undergraduate Experience
In line with future-oriented development needs, EIT is implementing an innovative talent cultivation model and building a high‑quality undergraduate education system.
Academic Programmes: In 2025, EIT offers four undergraduate majors: Fundamental Mathematics and Physics, Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering, Electronic Science and Technology, and Computer Science and Technology.
Educational Model: EIT operates on a trimester system, allowing students to engage in research opportunities from an early stage. In the first year, students are immersed in a comprehensive general education curriculum within the Residential College system (Siming College), with no immediate requirement to declare a major. Beginning in the second year, students transition into three years of specialized study, during which they select their college, major, and faculty advisor.
Our educational framework rests on four pillars—Knowledge Transfer, Research, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship—supported by three core systems: Credit, Tutorial, and Residential College. This model delivers an individualized, internationalized, and digitalized education. It includes one semester of international exchange, three summer innovation projects, and four years of active research and innovation. Through close faculty-student collaboration, we empower undergraduates to turn ideas into real-world solutions for global challenges.
Learning Environment: Small-class teaching lies at the heart of our pedagogical approach. Instruction is delivered in English, using teaching materials from leading global sources. Our inaugural undergraduate cohort comprises 74 students, and future annual enrollment will be capped at 1,000—a deliberate scale designed to cultivate a close‑knit, highly engaged academic community.
A Vibrant Residential Community
The Residential College System lies at the heart of EIT’s educational philosophy, creating integrated learning communities that seamlessly connect academic and residential life. The first of these, Siming College, serves as a dynamic intellectual and social hub, fostering interdisciplinary interaction and holistic growth among students and faculty.
Through this system, undergraduates benefit from a multi-layered support network, receiving guidance from Residential College mentors, academic advisors, industry and social mentors, and senior peers.
Educating the Whole Person
Beyond the classroom, we nurture character and well-being through a robust co-curricular program centered on global citizenship, humanistic literacy, scientific spirit, and practical skills. A rich array of artistic, cultural, and athletic clubs provides ample opportunities for exploration, teamwork, and personal growth.
EIT places a strong emphasis on holistic wellness, encouraging every student to engage in at least one hour of physical activity daily. Our Physical Education program combines small-class instruction with specialized sports clubs, led predominantly by National Master Athletes, ensuring expert coaching and mentorship.
