DCU Business School is affiliated to Dublin City University and only one of two schools in Ireland to be accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

The school has over 3,000 students, originating from across 58 countries. It has a strong emphasis on global business and offers courses in aviation.

DCU offers nine undergraduate courses: BSc Aviation Management / BSc Aviation Management with Pilot Studies; BSc Marketing Innovation and Technology; BA Accounting and Finance; BA Global Business (Canada); BA Global Business (USA); BA Global Business (Spain); BA Global Business (Germany); BA Global Business (France); Bachelor of Business Studies International and Bachelor of Business Studies.

Research activities at DCU range across cloud computing; leadership and talent management; small and medium-sized enterprises and family businesses; the health sector, the aviation industry (spawning the DAI, Dublin Aviation Institute) and big data.

One example of innovation at DCU is the creation of over 250 mobile apps in conjunction with Microsoft in a three year period, part of theDICE (Digital, Innovation Creativity and Enterprise) module for first year students.

As well as the AACSB accreditation, DCU’s Executive MBA has been accredited by the Association of MBAs (AMBA) since 2004. DCU’s MSc in Management is ranked in the Financial Times Top 90 globally, and the Eduniversal Best Masters ranking put four of DCU’s masters programmes in the top 30.

Approximately 95 per cent of DCU graduates are employed or are engaged in further study, within six months of graduation.

Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on an industry innovation research project, where you will be part of the research team to develop solutions for adapting CCS2 chargers for marine electrical vessels and optimizing DC fast charging technology for marine applications. As a Research Engineer (Electrical Engineering – Marine EV Charging & DC Fast Charging), you will be part of a dynamic team working on cutting-edge research and industry projects. You will: Participate in and manage the research project with the Principal Investigator (PI), and industrial partner to ensure all project deliverables are met. Develop and implement solutions for adapting CCS2 chargers to marine electric vessel applications. Design experiments for testing and analyze DC fast charging for high power marine EVs and assess communication integrity at various operating conditions. Test interoperability of charger with marine EVs and ensure compliance with EV charging communication protocols (e.g., ISO 15118, DIN 70121). Conduct EMI noise analysis and mitigation for high-power DC charging systems. Develop and troubleshoot embedded hardware and software for charger communication and control. Work on energy storage integration for marine charging infrastructure. Collaborate with industry partners and regulatory bodies on marine charging standards and DC fast charging protocols. Support knowledge transfer, prototype development, and system integration. Carry out Risk Assessment and ensure compliance with Work, Safety, and Health Regulations. Coordinate procurement and liaise with vendors/suppliers to support project needs. Work independently, as well as within a team, to drive research and development efforts Job Requirements Degree/Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or related fields. Strong knowledge of DC fast charging, energy storage systems, charger communication standards, and power electronics. Experience in charger communication protocols (e.g., CAN, PLC, Modbus, IEC61851). Experience in hybrid or full electrical systems design or analysis and system integration Experience in designing and developing experiments and associated test-set up for testing and troubleshooting electrical systems Proficiency in EMI noise analysis and power quality assessment. Knowledge of marine electrical systems and power electronics systems is an advantage. Hands-on experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and software development is an advantage. In collaboration with NEA, the Energy Efficiency Technology Centre (EETC) at Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) aims to be the leading technology innovation centre to support local industries on energy efficiency initiatives. Key Responsibilities Work with EETC team members and companies on energy assessment projects in industrial systems Assist and/or co-develop training in energy efficiency in industrial systems to adult learners and students Mentor students in energy assessment projects to enhance their technical problem-solving skills. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT.  The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on a Pharmaceutical Innovation Programme Singapore research project where you will be part of a collaborative team exploring innovative ways of understanding extrusion processing for pharmaceutical drug materials and products using rheological measurements. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will characterize mixtures of pharmaceutical excipients and drug materials to develop methodologies for screening hot-melt extrusion formulations and selecting optimal operating conditions using rheology, with the objective of producing amorphous-solid-dispersions. You will validate the developed processing space and operating conditions for extruded pharmaceutical formulations using a lab-scale extruder. In collaboration with researchers at the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART), you will characterize the physical properties and performance of intermediate pharmaceutical drug products. The created methods will be transferred to the industrial partner to enhance their product development process using rheological characterization. More specific responsibilities include: Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Undertake characterization of pharmaceutical active ingredients, polymeric excipients, and plasticizers for producing amorphous-solid-dispersions. Perform lab-scale hot-melt extrusion of pharmaceutical materials to validate predicted processing conditions and product outcomes. Collaborate with broader pharmaceutical research team at SMART. Design, execute, and interpret experiments independently. Author papers in high-quality journals in areas that are related to the research. Prepare and deliver reports and presentations for industrial partners Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. Coordinate procurement and liaise with vendors/suppliers. Work independently, as well as within a team. Job Requirements Have deep hands-on experience with at least one of the areas of polymer rheology, extrusion processing, pharmaceutical engineering with small molecules. Relevant competence in the areas of wet lab work, analytical instrumentation, material science and formulation Have an advanced degree in chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, materials science and engineering, or a related field.
