Key Responsibilities: Plan and conduct wet chemistry experiments and functional mRNA tests, changing parameters according to the requirements of the established Design of Experiments Detailed and careful experimentalist, able to capture critical details Conduct individual projects with minimal supervision and drive to completion Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met Show strong initiative and take ownership of research work for publication. Document, publish and present research findings to project stakeholders Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations. Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers The candidate is to liaise and communicate with any internal or external stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met and to perform any other adhoc duties assigned by Supervisor. Requirements (Expertise, Qualification and Experience): Synthetic chemistry/biology (2-3 years experience in wet chemistry labs is ideal, experience in organic synthetic methods, inorganic or synthetic biology, formulations) Pharmaceutical/Bio engineering (calculations, design of experiment, handling of mRNA) Have a degree in Chemistry, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical Engineering or closely related disciplines. Possessing a PhD degree will be advantageous. Analytical chemistry (experience with chromatographic methods, particularly LC and hyphenated methods would be advantageous) Strong experimentation skills and theoretical knowledge in chemistry, pharmaceutical/bio engineering Experience with Design of Experiments (DoE) Able to work independently as well as maintain strong working relationships with people within and external to the university Show strong initiative and sense of responsibility Proficient in technical writing and presentation Possess a high degree of self-motivation and curiosity in technical pursuits, with the ability to develop original ideas

The candidate should have extensive knowledge in the field of medicinal chemistry or chemical biology with relevance to applications in pharmaceutical sciences in order to support the research group in the field of synthetic organic chemistry. The Molecular Drug Targeting (MDT) Lab is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher with a strong background in synthetic organic chemistry, ideally complemented by experience in medicinal chemistry or chemical biology. The position focuses on functional conjugation chemistry, including protein conjugation, lipid coupling, and the development of tailored molecular probes. You will work extensively with analytical techniques such as NMR and MS and contribute to our fragment-based drug design efforts, integrating structural, thermodynamic, and biophysical insights directly into your synthetic strategy. The lab offers equipment for parallel synthesis, and you will also engage with chemical and biological databases as part of compound design and evaluation. A willingness to learn NMR spectroscopy and basic biophysical methods is expected to characterize protein ligand complexes, as these techniques are central to our integrated discovery pipeline. Experience with LYTACs or targeted degradation approaches is considered an advantage. The successful candidate will work with a high degree of personal responsibility, contribute to a safe and well-organized laboratory environment, and help guide and supervise students. Strong teamwork skills, enjoyment in working closely with people across disciplines, and a commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards in the lab are essential.
