The Deputy Registrar is a pivotal leadership role within the Academic Registrar, responsible for driving the strategic vision and operational excellence of the University’s academic administration. As the senior position in the Academic Registrar, this role is integral to ensuring the effective management of academic records, compliance with regulatory frameworks, and the continuous enhancement of administrative processes to support the University’s mission of delivering world-class education and fostering academic excellence. Key Responsibilities The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of strategic leadership in academic administration, a deep understanding of higher education systems, and a commitment to innovation and operational excellence. Provide visionary leadership for the Academic Registrar, ensuring its operations align with the University’s strategic goals and long-term priorities. Oversee the complete lifecycle of academic administration, including admissions, enrollment, registration, academic progression, and graduation, ensuring seamless support for students and faculty. Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of academic policies, procedures, and systems to meet evolving institutional needs and international best practices. Ensure full compliance with local and international regulations, accreditation standards, and institutional policies, with a deep understanding of Hong Kong’s higher education landscape. Partner with academic leadership, Faculties/Schools, and senior management to optimize course scheduling, curriculum management, and academic program development in alignment with the University’s strategic objectives. Oversee the implementation and management of advanced student information systems, ensuring data integrity, security, and the availability of actionable insights to support evidence-based decision-making. Serve as a key representative of the University, fostering strong relationships with government agencies, accreditation bodies, partner institutions, and other external stakeholders to enhance institutional reputation and influence. Qualifications Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field. At least 10 years of progressive experience in academic administration, preferably in a Sino-foreign joint university or an international higher education institution, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Strong knowledge of higher education policies and regulations. Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Proficiency in English (required); Mandarin Chinese is highly desirable. Experience working in an international or cross-cultural environment is an advantage. The UK Illicit Project is an NIHR funded 14-month pilot RCT of The Illicit Project-UK a school-based universal drug prevention and harm reduction intervention for older adolescents. The research follows on from an earlier feasibility study funded under the government's Innovation Fund to Reduce Demand for Illicit Substances.  It is a collaboration between Liverpool John Moores University, Stirling University, the Matilda Centre at the University of Sydney, the University of Liverpool, and Queens University, Belfast.
