We are seeking to recruit a postdoctoral researcher to work on an SEAI-funded research project on the photoelectrochemical generation of green hydrogen, combining solar cell materials with electrochemistry. The successful candidate will join the Electro-Materials, Environmental and Renewable Energy research group in the Department of Chemistry and will work on the synthesis and design of perovskite-based materials, assessing their potential for the photoelectrochemical reduction of water into hydrogen. This project is a collaboration with Chemical Engineering at University College Dublin (UCD), and the successful candidate will work closely with the research team at UCD. Post-Doctoral Researcher (level 1) - €46,805 p.a. (1 point with increments) Appointments will be made in accordance with public sector pay provisions. Established by Tung Wah Group of Hospitals (“TWGHs”) in 2010, Tung Wah College (TWC) is a self-financing degree-granting institution registered under the Post Secondary Colleges Ordinance (Cap.320). To cope with its continuous development, we are now inviting highly qualified candidates to fill the following post: Professor (Research Track), School of Medical & Health Sciences (635) Tung Wah College is conducting a global search for a Professor (Research Track) in the School of Medical and Health Sciences to provide academic leadership and foster research excellence. We are seeking a dynamic and innovative candidate with a distinguished record in medical and health sciences, particularly those who leverage modern methodologies to advance the field. Responsibilities The ideal candidate will have a strong background in applying knowledge to advance education, professional practice, and innovative healthcare development. We welcome applicants with expertise in areas such as allied health, biomedical science, forensic Science, medical laboratory science, public health, neuroscience, or sports science. We are also especially interested in candidates who have strengths in Artificial Intelligence (AI), health data analytics, bioinformatics, or digital health for translational, multidisciplinary research. A proven ability to lead curriculum development, secure competitive grants for applied research, and foster strong community and clinical partnerships is highly desirable. Requirements A doctoral degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Biomedical Science, Forensic, Medical Laboratory Science, Physiotherapy, Public Health, Sports Science, AI, Health Informatics, or a related field), preferably a PhD. Demonstrated substantial experience in leadership roles within the tertiary education sector or in professional organizations. A distinguished record of scholarly achievement commensurate with the rank of Professor. Extensive experience in tertiary education, including curriculum design, teaching, and programme management. A strong track record in applied, practice-based research and competitive grant acquisition. Documented experience in successful supervision of postgraduate students. Registration or eligibility for registration with the relevant professional body in Hong Kong (where applicable) is an advantage. As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT. Job Responsibilities Participate in and manage a few research projects with the Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met. Accumulate data from Co-PIs for quarterly, annual, or final progress reports Schedule meetings with co-PIs, collaborators on-site or off-site Update research or project team's activities on social media, website, and record videos when needed. Supporting PI/research team for overseas traveling, meetings, budgeting and collecting photos for reports. Facilitate visiting students or scholars for internal document collection and approval. Collect documents needed for different projects as KPIs. Undertake these responsibilities in the project: i. Lead and support high-quality publications to disseminate the applied research outcomes. ii. Plan, organize, and carry out experiments and trials in the labs to achieve the objectives iii. Manage and complete the project by presenting the findings in conferences or meetings with industrial collaborator, submitting timely data & documents, and purchasing chemicals or consumables. iv. Consolidate the data in order to generate sufficient scientific evidence for meeting slides and reports. v. Engage and communicate with collaborators for progress meetings and report generation to meet the grantor's requirements. The candidate is to liaise and communicate with any internal or external stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met and to perform any other adhoc duties assigned by Supervisor.  Job requirements Have relevant competence in the areas of project management, organizing documents, and facilitating report drafting. Have a degree in Food Science and Technology, Engineering or Science is a bonus. Some analytical work experience for texture analysis, food formulation and characterization, or publication is a bonus Detail-oriented person, able to communicate with industrial collaborators to share key findings, seek supports, or conduct commercial trials. Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers. Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
