Chung Hua University is a private university located in Hsinchu City, Taiwan, and was founded in 1990 by three local entrepreneurs. They aimed to provide technological education and promote higher education, while contributing to the development of local industries. Chung Hua University’s core values are to foster a spirit of diligence, integrity, compassion and innovation. The university implemented the universal education of innovation and creation, as students are required to study courses while completing practical projects. This is in line with the view that students will gain strength in innovative thinking to aid their future careers. The university has six colleges in total: architecture and design; computer science and informatics; engineering, humanities and social sciences; management, and tourism. CHU offers four bachelor degree programmes, 16 master’s degree programmes, three PhD programs, as well as 17 placement advanced study programmes. The campus itself is located alongside one of the city’s most famous scenic areas, the Green Grass Lake, allowing students to be surrounded by natural beauty. Students can enjoy on-campus access to the athletic field, swimming pool, basketball court and gymnasium, as well as two lakes and a student centre. Hsinchu City, translated to New Bamboo in English, is a coastal city located in Northern Taiwan. It holds great economic significance through the Hsinchu Science Park, a world-renowned centre for semiconductor manufacturing. The city is also significant for education, with six universities based in the city, with the opportunity for students from the different universities to meet and network. The city has various attractions on offer to students, from the CKS baseball stadium, to the fish harbor and Chenghuang Temple night market.

Part time 0.6FTE Fixed Term until 24/12/2030 Bundoora Campus Salary from $118,530 plus 17% superannuation (pro-rata) About the position A Level B academic with a teaching focussed appointment will work without the need for close supervision and is expected to develop curriculum, coordinate subjects, teach and support students as they learn. In addition, a teaching focussed academic will support the administrative functions of the nursing and/or midwifery disciplines as well as undertake scholarly work relevant to the development of learning and teaching in their designated role, discipline or professional field. In the School of Nursing and Midwifery, students are required to complete clinical placements that vary between three and five weeks in duration. The clinical placements are integrated into the study plan to complement learning on campus or in the clinical schools. Duties will include but are not limited to: Reporting to the Coordinator – Professional Experience Practice, will have oversight of placements within the nursing and midwifery disciplines. Work with the Associate Dean, Domestic Partnerships, Coordinator – Professional Experience Practice, Discipline Leads, Course Coordinators and Site Coordinators to initiate and develop strategies aimed at ensuring annual placement targets are met and to actively seek out opportunities to increase experiential learning opportunities as required. Research Fellow: AHRC Project ‘Strange Geographies: Spatial Imaginaries of Medieval Britain’

The University of Southampton is seeking to appoint a post-doctoral Research Fellow for 30 months (with the possibility of extension). The Fellow will support the AHRC-Funded project 'Strange Geographies: Spatial Imaginaries of Medieval Britain, c.1200-1500’, a collaboration between Southampton, Queen Mary University of London, the University of Cambridge, and a range of heritage and creative partners. ‘Strange Geographies’ focuses on an under-explored body of manuscript sources containing geographical material produced between 1200 and 1500. It will itemize, contextualize and interpret these sources to understand their role in shaping medieval spatial imaginaries, identities, and wider histories of geography. Through collaborations with musicians, poets and heritage partners, the project will also explore potential of creative collaborations to open up new ways of connecting people to the places and spaces of the past. The Fellow will carry out library and archive-based research into medieval manuscript resources across the British Isles and occasionally overseas, as well as desk-based research, transcription, editing, and preparing materials for web publication under the direction of the project lead and co-leads. You will contribute to the project dissemination by organising and participating in conference panels, workshops, and public engagement activities. You will publish academic outputs individually and in collaboration with the project lead and co-leads. You will have completed a PhD in a relevant medieval subject and will have good reading and transcription competence in medieval Latin as well as demonstrable experience of working with medieval manuscripts (including from the British Isles). In addition to these essential disciplinary research skills, you will have strong organisational skills. You will be required to be flexible and to have the ability to collaborate effectively with team members across multiple institutions. The Role and the Department This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development of the University's Strategic Reporting and Business Intelligence capabilities . You will be responsible for the Institutional Business Intelligence programme of work - leading the delivery of the key strategic analytical outputs related to the University's strategic performance and planning imperatives. Central to this will be the ongoing development of integrated performance dashboards and continued work on the development of the University's Management Information Hub. Your work will consider further development of the data lake for key data sources across different areas, as well as delivery of strategic reporting relating to those, expanding our core strategic PowerBI dashboard provision. The postholder will have a significant role in providing insights and evidence for assessing performance and meaningful planning, including key performance indicators and competitive positioning. You will be responsible for the BI section in the Strategy, Planning & Insight Office, leading the team to deliver significant change and improvement in our strategic reporting and analytics, data lake resources, data dashboard reporting, data governance, data quality, data literacy and culture.
