The Early Career Awards (ECA) are designed to support Singaporeans who have recently completed their postdoctoral training and prepare them for an academic career at SIT. This award aims to enhance the teaching capabilities of the recipient and help build a strong research portfolio. Eligibility and Selection Criteria Singapore Citizen   Recently completed postdoctoral training   Excellent academic record plus a high degree of proficiency and motivation for a research area that is strongly aligned with SIT’s supported areas  Strong passion for teaching, research and an academic career Benefits Awardees may receive research grants to help build a competitive research portfolio. You will require a 3D animation, computer science and/or anatomical modelling background. A knowledge of dental data and 3D visualisation is desirable. Face Lab, led by Professor Caroline Wilkinson, is an award-winning collaborative unit that combines art and science to explore facial identity and representation. Comprising academics and PhD researchers, it pioneers innovative craniofacial projects in forensic identification and digital heritage, advancing interdisciplinary research and knowledge exchange in heritage, arts, culture, and forensic investigation. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT.  Job Responsibilities Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met.• Undertake these responsibilities in the project: i. Lead and support high quality publications to disseminate the applied research outcomes. ii. Plan, organize and carry out experiments and trials in the food pilot plant to achieve the objectives iii. Manage and complete the project by presenting the findings in conferences or meetings with industrial collaborator, submitting timely data & documents, and purchase chemicals or consumables. iv. Consolidate the data in order to generate sufficient scientific evidence for meetings slides and report in conferences. v. Engage and communicate with collaborators for progress meetings and report generation to meet the grantor's requirements. The candidate is to liaise and communicate with any internal or external stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met and to perform any other adhoc duties assigned by Supervisor.  Job requirements Have relevant competence in the areas of protein chemistry, analytical chemistry for amino acid profiling, polyphenol profile analysis, SDS-PAGE, and protein hydrolysis. Have a degree in Food Science and Technology, or Analytical Chemistry. Possessing a Master's or PhD degree will be advantageous Experience and Knowledge of operating HPLC, MALDI-TOF and Q-TOF Mass spectrometry for protein sequencing, carbohydrate/Sugar analysis, and polyphenol identification. Previous experience as lab-in-charge or equipment-in-charge will be advantageous. Able to communicate with industrial collaborators to share key findings, seek supports, or conducting commercial trials. Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety, and Health Regulations. Coordinate procurement and liaison with vendors/suppliers. Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment.

Clinical Research Fellow in Neuromodulation, Sleep, and Dementia

The role We are seeking an outstanding Clinical Research Training Fellow to help spearhead the development and clinical testing of a novel non-invasive brain stimulation sleep therapy for Alzheimer’s disease. The project is funded by the Medical Research Council and will be conducted at the UK Dementia Research Institute Centres at the University of Surrey and Imperial College London  The successful applicant will, together with other team members, be responsible for recruiting individuals with early-stage Alzheimer’s disease to the study and for administering non-invasive brain stimulation (phase-locked TI electric fields and audio), electroencephalography (EEG), and cognitive paradigms during wakefulness and sleep. The successful applicant will also work alongside other team members to examine patients’ responses by analysing EEG and behavioural data.  Candidates are expected to hold a medical qualification (MBBS or equivalent) and be fully registered with the GMC, have experience working with patients with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or dementia, and have knowledge of research methods and statistical procedures The successful applicant will be clinically mentored by Chris Butler (the project’s clinical lead) and will be an active member in Derk-Jan Dijk's (University of Surrey) and Nir Grossman's (Imperial College) research groups. You will be expected to collaborate closely with researchers across the groups at Imperial College London, the University of Surrey, King’s University, and with the broader worldwide network of collaborators.  About you Crucial skills include prior experience working with patients, particularly those with dementia or other cognitive disorders. Desirable skills include experience in assessing cognitive function using standardised and experimental tasks, conducting non-invasive brain stimulation and/or EEG recording procedures, and analysing EEG data.
